August 4, 201016 yr I'm sure Mike Leake knows exactly when he's going to start. Just because he has a few days extra rest doesn't mean they're going to wait until the day before to let him know he's starting... Nobody said that they don't tell him when he is going to pitch. They are messing with his routine and making decisions whether to give him 5, 6 or in sometimes 8 days rest as they go. Pitchers have a routine where they long toss, short toss and warmup between starts. If you don't know how many days off you are going to have you change that routine somewhat so that your arm is ready when you do start.
August 4, 201016 yr Thom Brennaman just brought up a good point could the way the Reds have been doing Mike Leake with his off days between starts have some influence on his performances of late? Pitchers do like to have a routine between starts and I would think that his routine has really been thrown off not knowing if and when he will start. August 4, 201016 yr How do you not get that run home? I went and took a shower with Rolen coming up with a guy on 3rd and only 1 out....
August 4, 201016 yr Where has the HR ball gone from the Red's outfield? Other than Heisey here is what the Red's outfielders have done lately HR wise. Gomes hasn't hit one since 7/19, Bruce since 6/30, Stubbs since 7/17 and Nix since 5/22. Boy do we need some power supply from these outfielders.
August 4, 201016 yr What else could "not knowing if and when he will start" mean? I am not going to debate this with you I guess you just don't know anything about how pitcher's schedule their time between starts. If you did you wouldn't be nitpicking on what I did or didn't say. I'm sorry I brought up what Brennaman said and that you didn't understand it.
August 4, 201016 yr Another awful AB for Jay Bruce. Why is Chris Dickerson still playing down @ Louisville with the way the Reds regular outfielders are struggling.
August 4, 201016 yr Great AB by Heisey....I think he's putting his stamp on that CF job for the rest of the season.
