I have no idea and I don't care why she left as it doesn't impact me. If she were my Governor I would know more about the situation. Fact remains is neither one fulfilled their responsibilities to the people who elected them. I don't have a problem with either of them but I do with people who skewer one and try to make excuses for the other.

We just finished 8 years of that not too long ago, and look where that got us.

 

I am not a Palin supporter. But to be frank, it's not so much her intellectual shortcomings (although they're certainly a factor) as the fact that she jumped ship during her gubernatorial term. That tells me all I need to know about her.

 

Had higher grades than John Kerry, and that is a fact. Higher scores too on standardized tests-so once again maybe being so smart isn't the greatest way to go.

 

Once about twenty centuries ago folks were looking for a savior to be a king, and he sure came in a different package, didn't HE? I wouldn't always just look at the smartest. Some of the smartest people I know book wise-doctors, lawyers, etc-couldn't turn on the lights without instructions.

Oh, is she running for office? Didn't know she made her intentions public yet. I thought she was just hawking her autobiography, hosting her own TV show and being a political analyst for FOX News. I'm sure all that money is going right back into her campaign fund.

I have no idea what she is doing, but to make fun of someone for misstating a word or whatever is childish. Plagerizing papers and speeches like the current vice-president is a more serious offense.

 

As to the thread, maybe Mrs. Palin doesn't have the IQ of others in Washington, I don't know. I will say I bet Barney Frank is one of the smartest members of congress-doesn't mispronounce words and is a high ranking senator of great proportion, and I wouldn't trust him with $1. If we just want our President to be the smartest, then we should have a standardized test, and probably some child of Indian parents would be the next President. Book smart does not equate to great leader by any stretch. Reagan (arguably) was one of our weaker minded Presidents, and yet he found ways to get the hostages out of Iran-something the "brilliant" Jimmy Carter couldn't do. He got the interest rates down, etc. Gerald Ford probably wasn't the smartest either, but in my opinion fell on his own sword to heal a hurt nation by the paranoia and dishonesty of Richard Nixon. Bush 43 may be better viewed in the future than he is now, and others believe he just fell of the turnip truck.

 

Talk about a smart guy-Osama Bin Laden has been ducking the smartest, greatest country in the world for nearly a decade now. He seems smarter than Bush and Obama-maybe that qualifies him to be the smartest.

First, let me say that the bolded part is not true in the least. Reagan had NOTHING to do in getting the hostages out of Iran. If I'm not mistaken, they were freed during his inaugural ball. The Iranians waited until Carter was out of office to release them just for spite.

 

Anyway, if you can't realize that our leaders need to be more intelligent than the average, I don't know what to tell you.

Mrs. Palin has more money than almost everyone on this board, looks better than almost everyone on this board, has a husband that basically runs the Northern Exposure mafia, quit a Governorship and was able to parlay it into a book deal and seven figures on the speaking circuit, has mobilized an entire army of women nationwide who thinks its cool to wear lipstick and shoot firearms and vote, and did all of this by starting out at an obscure Idaho college and 3rd place in the Miss Alaska pageant.

 

Most of us on here need bigger pants to hide our beer guts and think we're influential if we make it onto a local church deacon board.

 

Let me just quote my favorite liberal mantra here and say that who is "stupid" is pretty doggone relative. I'm pretty sure that she is too busy counting her millions to worry about whether the "f" in "refudiate" should have been a "p."
