I would love for the Hornets owner not to be able to sell them, and then decide to do the charitable thing and send CP3 to the Cavs, provided LBJ stays. Not the likeliest of scenarios, but I can dream can't I?

 

I don't see NO trading CP3 this year, he is the only real draw they have in a community that wouldn't support the basketball team without him. Collison may turn out to be a very good PG, but I don't see him becoming Chris Paul. I look for CP3 to be a Hornet through this upcoming season, all the way to the deadline of the next. I don't think he'll come back to the Hornets, so I think they will maximize his value while they can. They are already under the luxury tax, so I don't see why they would trade him for a bunch of scrubs even if they could remove Okafor's or Posey's big contracts.

Yup. Knicks with Dantoni run the floor and play no defense, what more could Amare ask for? He's getting paid big bucks, Knicks fans need a legit star and will look past his flaws this year until they get some help to cover him up. I think it's the best move he could make.

I could see both of them going there. I've always thought Melo was wanting to find a way back East. He isn't turning down 65 million over 3 years because he thinks he can get a better deal IMO. He's got future Knick or Celtic written all over him IMO.

If they wait a year and a half to trade him the value of the trade would be a lot less. To get rid of Posey's and Okafor's contract would be the best possible scenario for them IMO. A lot of people like that Beaubois guy.

True, but the two terrible contracts aren't hurting them that much as it is right now. Had New Orleans not have got rid of the players needed to get under the luxury I would agree with you that Paul would be gone. I do think that they could get much better than what Dallas could offer.
