July 2, 201016 yr I was very happy with the way things were, but with the hype surrounding this offseason, if nothing really changes I think it's going to drive the causal fans, who have tuned in to see where the big names end up, away from the game. JMO. I agree, thats all we have heard about for two or three years now is Free Agency 2010 in the NBA, and so far, nothing special. ...and UKMF, clear some of your pms when you get a chance.
July 2, 201016 yr The NBA needs change. If Lebron stays then I think it'll actually be bad for the NBA. I can agree with that. The NBA was at an absolute high in the Jordan hey day, but saw a decline starting the new millennial. Just in the past five years or so has it gained back the excitement that it once had. If a few of these big names make some splashes this off season, it can really jump start the league and send it into a really favorable thing to watch.

If most the big names stay, then we are going to see a slow decline in the NBA just because it's the same story. Now given the fact that Amare and Chris Bosh are likely headed for new teams there will be a little shakeup but nothing that is going to drastically improve ratings the way they would have if Lebron left for New York, Miami, etc. He stays in Cleveland then we will we marginal rise in ratings if that.
July 2, 201016 yr I don't think it's bad for the NBA at all, but that is just me. I might be wrong, but I think the NBA really isn't going to gain more casual fans. People either love the NBA, love the NCAA, or just don't care for basketball. I can't see the NBA getting more popular in the USA no matter what happens, the only way it grows is on the International level.

He met with the Hawks for a second time today and still hasn't agreed. The Hawks can and are offering to pay him more but as of right now he is still keeping his options open, someone close to him said he is intrigued by New York. In the end though I look for the money to win out, although I hope I'm wrong.

If Johnson were to sign with the Knicks, you'd have to wonder if LeBron would then seriously consider them...I say they're practically dead in the water for LeBron, but you never know.

They wouldn't have enough to sign Lebron, Johnson, and Amare would they? Especially if they give Johnson the max. I thought up until the exit from the playoffs Lebron would be staying in Cleveland. Then it looked like Chicago would be the obvious choice. Now as it unfolds, it looks like Cleveland may still end up bringing the King back home, or that the Nets may actually stand a better chance than anyone thought. Not sure if he is, I haven't heard about it if so, but Prok. and Jay-Z should be putting the full court press on Joe Johnson. Pair him with Lebron, Harris, Lopez and Favors and thats a good young core with some growing potential. Have young lottery guys like T Will and CDR as well.

July 2, 201016 yr CDR is a Buck...And no, the Knicks would have to get them to each agree to slightly less than max deals. My bad, I forgot about CDR in Milwaukee. With all the frenzy I have been playing a lot of NBA 2K10 and even with an updated roster it still had CDR on the Nets, or at least it did sill in Association mode when I played them.
