Me and my girlfriend are thinking of going both days next weekend, how bad are the lines typically this time of year? We're thinking of doing a 2 day pass, and doing the water park the 2nd day. Any suggestions or advice?

Wait you have a GF?

Me and my girlfriend went up 2 weeks ago and there was no line. We walked onto Diamondback 3 times. Though with everyone out of school and you going on the weekend its probably going to be pretty packed. If you go, I advise you to go early and get there around 9:45 if you dont want to wait a good time for rides. Have a good time.

My advice is go to Cedar Point.

I'll second this suggestion. It's a better park and is well worth the extra time it takes to get up there. You can stay at Hotel Breakers and get into the park early, and enjoy the beach area they have up there as well. Cedar Point is an awesome place.

Well its my last weekend before leaving for a while, and from Paducah, Cedar Point is a little too far for us to drive.

I have been over 30 times to Kings Island now so I consider myself somewhat of a vet :D The past 6-7 years, the lines have not been that bad. We always go on Memorial Day weekend, which you would assume would be busier than most days, and you can get through the lines relatively quick.

And yes, for us Western Kentuckians, Ceadar Point is a lot further of a haul.

I have been to both KI and CP. No way I would drive the extra 3 hours. KI has added many many good rides to an already good park.

I would expect the lines to be busy especially on the weekends, a few week days maybe not as bad. Kids are just out of school and that's the big thing to do in Mason.

Anyone been to Holiday World in Santa Claus, In. I here a lot of good things about it but have never been.

Six Flags Great American in Chicago is a good destination for you WKY folks too.

For the money Holiday World is a very good deal, no super thrill rides but its got several wooden rollercoasters that are fun and they have unlimited free soft drinks which is very nice!

We went there a few years ago and enjoyed it. Not near as big as the other parks but we went for the water park more than anything. We had a good time.

K.I. has improved the last few years. The reason for the improvement is that Cedar Fair Inc owns it. Bought the park in 2006.

It does seem like it has improved the past few years. They have added the Diamondback ride which is a really good roller coaster. But the Son of Beast is now shut down which was a good ride. And why did the eliminate going backwards on The Racer?

We went the past two years and enjoyed it. If you like wooden roller coasters they have some of the best. Their water park it pretty enjoyable as well.
