"Big 10 football. 15 schools, belly up results to the big boys."

:p Just messing.

Having a hard time loading the page.

Assuming this goes through, how will the dominoes fall?

So I'm assuming Notre Dame is going to give a swift, "No" as a response. Would Nebraska and Mizzou go? I'm sure Rutgers will jump at the chance.

Just my assumption, but if Mizzou and Nebraska go, I'd assume the Big 12 will go after TCU and maybe Arkansas???

Do you think they would offer Notre Dame if they new there was 0% chance of them accepting?

Inviting four teams would make it a 15-team league. To me, this looks like Notre Dame could be joining in everything but football (which might come around in the future, along with a 16th team), which would leave 14 teams, or 7 teams per division.

If Notre Dame joined in everything but football, I would imagine there would be some type of scheduling stipulation that requires the Irish to play "x" number of Big Ten teams per season.

Of course this is all just speculation on my part...

I can't imagine they would let ND join if ND doesn't join for football.

I wouldn't think so either, but it might be the first step. Maybe they give Notre Dame more of a say in who the 16th team is in the future?

The Big 10 schools and the U of Chicago are part of a group called Committee on Institutional Cooperation. One of the reasons cited in the past for ND declining to join the B10 is that the school is not a good fit for this group. Its focused on research which ND is not.

Big East can make it with the loss of Rutgers.

What is going to be the key is what happens when ND says no. If they stick with 14 the Big East will be fine. If they go to 16 it's going to get ugly...

I would like for UofL, USF, WVA and UC to head over to the ACC. I think that would be a good fit for all four teams.

How do they play football? A 7 team conference gets an automatic BCS bid?

Rutgers would be easy to replace...
