Unfortunately this type of behavior is getting more and more common in our high schools. Every group is uber sensative now and is offended by everything. School boards go over board protecting the rights of every group...oh except for Christians at school. FCA and other Christian groups are barred in some schools from being a part of the schools "Official" clubs but GSA (Gay, Straight Alliance) is fine and dandy.

You may be right but can you cite some specifics about that? I remember being asked by a CKY principal once about FCA meeting during school vs. after school. I told him it could be opening Pandora's box to outrageous groups like the ones you mentioned among others. It would be hard to support the idea of banning one vs. the other in a court.

I salute your father. I am sure he is a great man. I also bet he is ashamed of what America has become since then too.

He was not born in America, but moved here as a child with his mother. While he is liberal on most social issues (gay rights, abortion, etc), .... you will be hard pressed to find someone who loves this country more than he does. He has done numerous tours and benefits for the troops, gone overseas to visit them, etc. I agree. I bet he would send as many shirts as those kids wanted.

Sorry for assuming that. I am also proud to be an American BUT I am also ashamed of what it has become. I don't like how our veterans are treated, especially the ones in the wars before the war on Terrorism. I don't like how homosexuals are allowed to be married, how our Government gives in to Atheist (especially on Christmas issues), I don't like how the woman can just go out and have an abortion (even if the guy wants it), how we have to be considerate of all religions except Christianity, why child molesters can just get out and molest and kill again.

So Yeah I love the USA, BUT I AM disgusted on what it has allowed to become.

A California high school principal has apologized for telling five students they couldn't wear U.S. flag shirts on Cinco de Mayo, the local superintendent said Friday

 

This has certainly been a very difficult time for our school district," Superintendent Wesley Smith said in prepared remarks delivered Friday at a news conference.

 

Smith affirmed that students are free to wear patriotic clothing on campus, but the campus also must be kept "orderly and safe."

 

"School leaders have to make judgment calls on when to take preventative measures to pre-empt a possible incident or conflict," Smith said. "In this situation, it appears that a decision was made too quickly."

 

 

 

More than 200 Hispanic students reportedly skipped class on Thursday and marched to school district headquarters while chanting "we want respect" and "si se puede" -- "yes we can," the Morgan Hill Times reported.

The Assistant Principal was scared of disruptions that them wearing their shirts may have caused. It seems there may have been reason to feel this way as Police stationed themselves in the school the next day to thwart any potential violence.

 

If there were no reason to think violence may break out why the need for police officers? The article I read used the term "Mexican gangs retaliating."
