The chick in Vegas has now determined that she is gonna go ahead and pursue the case instead of settling out of court. Wonder how that will play out with regards to any future suspension for Ben? Wonder if that was addressed in the meeting with Goodell?

Michael Vick was suspended for 6 games after being convicted in the dog fighting situation and served 18 months in prison. The suspension was reduced to 2 games upon his return to the NFL.

No I don't overreact. This is twice this has happened in less than a year. One time might be a mistake, or someone looking to get rich off of Ben. But twice, no. Ben has a problem. To take a 20 year old girl and get her stone drunk and take advantage of her. Yes they guy needs to be a registered sex offender. Just my one opinion.

 

You have to be convicted of a sex related crime to be a registered sex offender. Ben was not even charged.

 

Don't get me wrong, I am appalled by his actions and support the commissioners actions. I think the suspension should send a strong message to he and the rest of the NFL players. DON"T TAKE THIS AS DEFENDING HIS ACTIONS, ... but I also think that the media taking the stories of drunken college girls as the gospel as to what happened, ... and a girl to drunk to apparently even remember what happened, makes a really, really bad situation look even worse.

 

I do agree that Ben has a problem. He is acting like a 20 year old college boy and he is supposed to be a professional football player and a full grown man. He is 28. It is way past time for him to grow up and act like a man.

I thought it was known for a while it was going to a civil court. I presume this may be the same situation with the Georgia girl? The NFL is looking at another year or so of Big Ben in the courtroom stories.

Yeah, because most 20 year old sorority girls don't drink enough on their own, right? Surely it was all part of Big Ben's Grand Plan to get the girl so wasted that she couldn't even have sex.

Do you mean civilly? Because by all accounts so far, unless I've missed it, she's not pursuing any more litigation. Of course, donating 6 game checks will hurt. Not to mention, his endorsement issues are considerably worsened.

After reading the transcript of the police report, I think she's got no case. It's evident she played a more significant role than just innocent victim.

I wouldn't be suprised at all to see Pittsburgh trade Ben. For certain, one more slip up and he will be an Oakland Raider before you know it.

I have a suspicion that in the first round tonight a team may offer that pick to P'burgh for Ben. I'll be at a Little League game during the first several rounds, can't wait to get home to see what happened.
