April 11, 201016 yr Author Kanter was amazing. Sullinger is tough down low, and he was up to the challenge. What I liked most was how he went after every ball. Definitely not afraid to get in there and mix it up. Every ball put on the rip he was there trying to get it and put it back in. Had very nice touch in close and knew how to get in scoring position. Loved watching Knight tonight, in comparison to the McD's game. During the Mickey D's game he was forcing up a lot of shots and was looking more to score himself than to get his teammates involved. Tonight he just played within the game and created for his teammates. Knight will fit in nicely at the college level, and hopefully in a Kentucky uniform. Jones showed just why he is Cal's biggest target. He was hitting the outside shot, taking it to the hole, and handling the ball on the perimeter. Looked good going to the glass and on the defensive end. Very complete game for a front court guy. He would be a huge piece of the puzzle if Cal can lure him to Lexington.
April 11, 201016 yr Kanter breaks the record for points in the Summit with 34, it was previously held by Dirk Nowitski. All that while grabbing 15 boards. Please let him be eligible.
April 11, 201016 yr Just turned it on, Knight looks good so far. Barnes is tough. He will look nice in baby blue...
April 11, 201016 yr He will look nice in baby blue... For one year. UK's not the only team that gets one and dones.

April 11, 201016 yr Barnes is tough. After watching some of this game Wall was on a different level this time last year. Kanter keeps impressing me even though I hope he looses this game. I agree... There were some really really good players in this game, but none even compare to where Wall was at. I just watched a highlight video of him from last year and it was unreal. Kanter did look excellent though. Very impressive.
April 11, 201016 yr Draft Express had a tweet last night that Kanter received 600k over 4 years from the Turkey but was never under contract. This is a claim they have made from a source...nothing definitive yet. The timing of the news is odd, and Im not sure if it is plausible. The kid is only 17 and has been in the U.S. for the last year, so that means he was getting paid at age 12? Seattle writer said Kanter was the best player on the floor...and is a UW beat writer. Saw one tweet last night from Sullinger's brother to Jared who played last night. "Hey MrOhio....Kanter fired you!"
April 11, 201016 yr I like alot of things about Kanter but it looks like he walks every time in the post. He has great touch and knows how to play, it just always seems to me that he takes an extra step or two. I would love to have Jones in Blue and White.

April 11, 201016 yr The reports I checked out from the Nike Hoops Summit said a few interesting things. One that Kanter was the best prospect there and one of them felt Jones was a done deal to UK with Knight. If both end up being true it should be another good year for the Cats.
April 12, 201016 yr For one year. UK's not the only team that gets one and dones. I know he is as good as gone after the his freshman year, but will still be glad to have him.
April 12, 201016 yr Does Cal use Kanter's questionable eligibility to lure another big? When you say big do you mean somebody that will play the 5? Is that where Kanter is projected to play, or is he more of a 4? How many quality bigs are undecided?
April 12, 201016 yr I know he is as good as gone after the his freshman year, but will still be glad to have him. At least you get him for one year. He looks awesome. I must say though I'm pleased to get Kanter and I think the CATS will get Knight, which makes me happy!
April 12, 201016 yr Author If this years class ends up being... Knight Lamb Poole Jones Kanter then Kentucky should still look pretty good next year. I think Pat maybe waiting to see whether or not Leslie or Jones are coming. If they both head elsewhere I could see Pat coming back because of not wanting to leave the inside empty. If we do get that class and add it to what is already there, then should be a very competitive team IMO, and then be very good in 2011'.

I think Kanter can play either spot. If Cal doesn't get another big, it seems like you'd have Kanter at the 5, and then ???. Assuming PP doesn't come back. If PP comes back, its a solid starting front court, but little depth if he doesn't pick up another recruit.
