We always hear about the backs and receivers, but what linemen in the state this coming year will be on the college radar? Give as much information about them as possible: height, weight, GPA, maxes, times, ect.

Wesley Watkins, DT, 6 ft 3 in, 5.2 40 time, 290 bench press, 435 squat, 4.0 GPA at Franklin County High School. Has a great motor and continues to get better day by day. He is a very intriguing prospect.

Ryan Smith DT-Henry Clay 6'-1" 295lbs. 345 bench, 600 squat, 4.8 40, 4.33 shuttle, legitimate D1 prospect.

Goodness gracioous, he's a beast! If he is throwing up those kinds of numbers, he should be more than a legitimate D1 prospect, everybody and their mother needs to be going after this kid! Best of luck, and I look forward to hearing your name more down the road.:thumb:

Tyler Combs from Lawrence Co. He's only a Soph will be a Jr. Here's a little insert from last years offense/defense camps. He went to one and kept getting invited to more finishing I think at Myrtle Beach. Pretty sure he might have been the only Soph lineman there.

Here's a link from last summer after his Fresh year going into his Soph year from that camp. It's about the 7th little type up down the page:

Personally i think high school 40s are a joke. There are just too many factors, unless they are done at a combine with an electrionic timer, otherwise the margin of error can be too high. Also most college line coaches do not care about the 40, most are more concerned about the shuttle or just the 20.

I personally don't think the 40 times should be such a huge factor in recruiting, but I can gaurantee you that a 295lb kid under 5.0 has a big advantage.

Those times would make him faster than anyone over 250 lbs at the ESPN Rise combine a few weeks ago. (?) I'm sure he's a good athlete and a legitimate prospect.

Alex Newton, OL and DL - mostly OL last year, at Mason County is getting looks from several schools. (6' 3" 275 lbs and still growing, 5.58 40, 5.0 shuttle at Atlanta with electronic timing equipment, also a 35 foot power ball throw) He has an excellent combination of speed and quickness for a big guy (and intelligence). He's on the young side for his class. He'll be a senior next year and just turned 17 last week.

I agree with Tyler completely. Tyler will be a big recruit his senior year, he has the size, the athleticism, and he has the desire. Tyler will be a D1 recruit.
