Is this really an issue? I loved his answer. He thinks if he wanted to win the scoring title every year he could. What's wrong with that again?

When Lebron chokes again in the playoff and storms off the court like a baby, it will make this story even more enjoyable.

If he was "made" to go to the Clippers next year they would win the next 3 titles if not more. He's never played w/ a better cast than they would have. Davis, Gordon, LBJ, Blake G., and Kaman would be hands down the best team in LA. As someone famously posted on here. Write that down.

I'm not worried about the stats Cats. That's the point of this thread, and the point (however it came across) that Lebron made in the initial comment. You know what? I don't care who wins the scoring title. I'm more concerned at the end of the day who has the ring. That's what they play for. When he gets one, he'll earn some more of my respect. His antics aside, he needs to get over the playoff hump for me to give him any real consideration as "the greatest".

 

He needs to want to be the greatest IMO. No matter what anyone thinks of Kobe the one thing nobody can take from him is his desire to be the best player ever. He has a great skill set, but more importantly a great will to win. If LBJ doesn't develop that he'll win one or two titles. If he develops it look out. He's not there yet IMO.

I will give you that LeBron is possibly the greatest athlete to ever step foot on a basketball court. He is an absolute physical specimen that cannot be stopped (yet he stops himself shooting the ball sometimes, but that is for another thread). He still has a lot to accomplish, a jump shot to get down, and on the ball defense to perfect before he receives that kind of praise, imo.

Whether it is fair or not, Championships go a long way in defining a career. In the NBA, multiple championships is a prerequisite before you can be thrown in the Mount Rushmore list.

In the NBA rings define a career a lot more than any other sport IMO.

In terms of talent and athleticism I agree. In terms of everything that goes in to being the best basketball player of all-time, LeBron still has some work to do. It's really, really, hard to top Michael Jordan. But say LeBron gets 4 rings with 4 finals MVP, I think he would have a legit argument because of the era he plays in (better players overall throughout the league, not necessarily at the top but all over) and the other things he does.

Is Oscar not considered a top 10 guy? He only won 1 title, and his numbers match up pretty well with what LeBron has done for his career. LeBron has a great shot of landing pretty high on the All-time scorers list, possibly #1 overall so with 1 title he may be considered up there in the top 10 or so though he wouldn't pass guys like MJ, Magic or Kobe.

 

And in reality I like his chance to get atleast two championships considering he's only 25.
