He had many awesome baseball catch phrases but his best is when a batter would strike out looking: "He stood there like a house by the side of the road" Growing up just outside of Baltimore, the guy I listened to was Chuck Thompson. When the Orioles were playing well, he would often say, "Ain't the beer cold."
April 1, 201016 yr I should have thought of that one first. Yeah but he said it in St. Louis first! I'll never forget when Ozzie Smith hit a walk off home run during the playoffs Jack Buck's call was priceless. "Go Crazy!, folks, Go Crazy!" Also "And that's a winner!" I remember all of these baseball calls of Jack Buck.

April 2, 201016 yr Author Kind of off the subject, but did anybody catch any of the Cubs games when Harry Caray had to take a sabattical? I watched one where Bill Murray was a guest broadcaster, and it was a riot.
