Who do you think has been the top program in the past 25 years. Give reasons to suuport your choice.

I'm guessing I need to say Kentucky here

I am leaning towards Duke but would have to look at some stats first.

Their probation hurt them a bit in this one though.

 

3 straight appearences in the Championship Game winning 2 and losing 1 by a Derek Anderson helped greatly.

 

Numerous #1 seeds and sweet 16's.

 

Consitent and stable coaches until just recently with the departure of Tubby.

 

UNC would be 2nd

Duke

Kansas

Why is Michigan State and UCONN not on the list?

Having a hard time seeing how an unbiased fan would say UK on this...

Duke. The real question should be who has been the second most successful program the past 25 years.

Really only had one horrendous season.

 

UNC would be second, in my book. They've had a few dreadful seasons sprinkled in there.

UK & UNC are awfully close for 2nd. I will be a homer and give UK #2 and UNC #3, but would understand the other way around.

 

Kansas would be #4 on that list IMHO with UConn & Mich St just behind. UF would finish on my list about #7 because their 2 titles.

1987 -1989 were real rough for the Cats.

 

They were not a #1 for almost 7 years until this year, I'm sure Duke, Kansas and UNC are a lot better off in this category.

Why wouldn't Kansas be ahead of Kentucky? Same amount of titles as Kentucky. I presume more wins in that amount of time as well.

Here is the breakdown and you can decide.

 

Duke 11 final fours 3 titles

NC 11 final fours 3 titles

Kentucky 5 final fours 2 titles

Kansas 6 final fours 3 titles.

 

That is pretty even. but IMO opinion I would give Duke the nod because NC has not made the tournament for I think 3 of these 25 years.

 

As bad as it hurts me to rank these but if you do only on the stats and not your heart it would go like this.

1. Duke

2. North Carolina

3. Kansas

4. Kentucky
