He is a very good player, enjoy watching him play. There are several teams that could win it all next year. Alot depends on the draw.

I like both Fucci and Barksdale. I don't think either will win Mr. Basketball, but both are very good players.

 

Marcellus is one of my favorite kids to talk to. Good ball player, but an even better person off the court.

Look at the kids he is doing that against though. Not one is his size or athletic as him.

 

Put him against Behanan, Fant, Stroud, Purvis, Daniel, Kates, Gaines, or one of the more athletic kids from other regions and see if he still puts together a highlight film like that.

 

See Timmy on the AAU circuit as further proof that he isn't the best player in the state. Against kids as athletic and big as him, he only averages around 10 ppg.

They usually send someone to the bigger events such as the KY/TN Shootout at Warren Central, Marshall Co Hoopfest, Lexcath Tourney, and King of the Bluegrass.

 

You won't see any at a regular season game though. The majority of their analysis come from seeing the prospect one time which makes these ratings even less credible.

Timmy is athletic and can do things with the basketball that few his size can at the high school level, that's just granted and for all who make excuses, they are just that excuses! Elliott county and conversely Timmy have played in national tournaments and against the best teams Kentucky has to offer since he has been there so this notion he is a product of weak opponents is absurd. Maybe a youtube of TK sending all the Ballard players shots across the gym up in Sandy Hook two years ago should surface!

As far as what he does at his size, there are atleast 150 kids in HIS GRADE ALONE (nationally) that are doing the same things as him at an even higher level.

Good player, but not worthy of player of the year. Also the team will have to have a little more success in order to attract the statewide attention.

I think Hunter Sizemore would be a great candidate for Mr. Basketball. He has great ball-handling skills and shoots the ball really well. I look for him to be atop the leaderboard ahead of Vinny Zollo and all the other candidates.
