My first thought was wow this many people showed up for what essentially was a suped-up practice. The biggest thing on the field that stood out to me was that the WR's need to catch the ball first. I thought the running game looked pretty soild and with several capable bodies to step in and give quality yardage if called upon.

 

I agree, good crowd. The Raceland community knows how to support their football team.

 

There were some dropped balls, some because of our youth, and some just because the teams were split up. I think when we put all the players on one team we will look better. Depth is not going to be our strong suit this year.

I'll be the negative poster. I believe we looked good because we were a split squad with very little depth and the boys that made plays were made against players not as talented as what we will see on Friday nights. Now saying that, I think we have some potential and I am excited to see how the season unfolds. Are we going to be good enough with our out of district opponents? Don't honestly know. But by the time we start 1A District play, we should be ok. We have to remember that we have an elite coaching staff that will benefit us in close competition. Overall, I was pleasantly suprised by the young talent.

I had to look up the article in the ADI. Bond is one of the shyest kids you'd ever meet but he's impossible not to like.

 

West Carter has a lot of skill guys. They're allt similar. Probably the best besides Bond is WR Cody Stamper. The line is a little undersized but should be improved from last year.

I expect WC to have a nice ball club. It will really tell us where we are as a group as well.

I think West will be up to the task. And, I think we need this scrimmage just to see where we stand, right now there are more questions then answers. We need some kind of competition to see what we got and what we don't.

I think we have the talent to play with most of the teams we play this year. I think when you are as thin talent wise as we are. You don't look very good when you take the 12 to 14 talented players and split them up. T. Farley can't go down this year. And we must keep all of our upperclass linemen healthy. The coaching staff will win 2-3 games on out coaching the opp. as long as we stay healthy.

They don't have many kids, so they have some smaller guys on the line this year from what I've been told. Smaller and quicker guys instead of the big strong guys like Luke Carroll or Cody Roe like they've had in the past. The offensive line will make or break West Carter this season I think.
