What does Raceland return this year. I look for them to possible beat LCA this year and face Hazard in the Semi's. I think Hazard will win, but I expect Raceland to be there.

I like your optimism, but beating LCA and winning the district and the region will have to come before any chance of a meeting with Hazard.

 

To answer your question: Raceland returns a good deal of last years team, but as previously stated, we will have to find some quality linemen to make a decent run. Stay tuned.

Football started about 12 noon today. I can't wait to see them in the passing league this Saturday at Lawrence County.

Raceland had a great start to the 2010 season today. Practice was smooth. It seemed that almost all the players showed up in good shape, and had been working on their own during the dead period. Great to see some dedication.

I believe we only have 7 seniors (all experienced) and we will need a lot of the underclassmen to mature quickly to help us maintain what we have going. I agree with you Ram, the young ones showed up in pretty good shape. I can't wait to see them in pads!!!!!!!!

Loyal Devil, first of all, welcome to BGP's. The staff is pretty much the same minus Coach Hoof. This is the advantage of having a large and knowledgable staff.

Coach Maynard has the luxury of having a great staff, but he has added a few former players that plan on entering the coaching profession, as volunteer coaches. They will be helping with the varsity, junior varsity, and junior high. Scott Grizzle and Tyler Boyles will on staff for the 2010 season.

Passing league/camp Friday night and Saturday @ Lawrence County. I can't wait to watch some high school football!!!!! Having a hard time realizing that it was 25 years ago that I was getting ready for my senior season.

Well its really hard to not have grandsons out there but we will be right there to keep the support going. In discussing our team with the oldest he said its definetly goiing to be the line that will need to step up. His favorite line Boys it doesnt matter how big you are/ (you just make sure no one blocks you).

I think Raceland's coaching staff has found some linemen. Preparation continues.

I was at practice last night and was very impressed with the work ethic and the attitude that our Rams were practicing with and the hustle they were showing. I realize we are young on the OL and DL but no one will be accused of just going through the motions on this team. I am very proud of what I saw.

You're right doc, they are working. I have been pretty impressed with the work ethic of the freshmen, they have come in with a good attitude. The work ethic of the upper classmen has really rubbed off on them fast. We are young, and we are not deep, but what we have this year is working hard.

We are so young this year they may need to change our nickname to the Lambs! LOL We are too young to have horns!!!!
