When Tennessee beat Kansas, I was absolutely thrilled not just because they lost, but because I was tired of hearing the "experts" talk about Kansas, Kansas, and Kansas. It was Kansas, and then everyone else. They never showed me a performance that really impressed me to say, "hey, that's the best team."

But when a team is considered a lock for the final 4/National Championship game like Kansas was and lose in the 2nd round, then they're overrated, IMO. If Kentucky loses, it's not going to be shocking like this loss was. No one has said Kentucky is the overwhelming favorite, no one picked Kentucky over the field to win it all, so no, they wouldn't be overrated. They would underachieve. We heard all year long. Kansas is the greatest, most experienced, top 5 talented team, blah blah blah. They got worked by a mid major squad from Northern Iowa not a consistently successful ACC team.

Were they considered the overwhelming favorite of the tournament prior to the start of it? :thumb: First let me say that if Kentucky loses tonight, it will absolutely be said on here and by many of the analysts that Kentucky was overrated. A lot have pointed at the weakness of the SEC and how the schedule didn't pan out to be as tough as expected, and I absolutely think you would hear UK was overrated. The difference between the two is that Kansas was touted as nigh-unbeatable. Not just by Northern Iowa, by anyone. Kentucky has not been afforded that cache.
March 21, 201016 yr I think Kansas deserved to be the favorite...and they are not overrated IMO. They had an off night and UNI played well. Case closed. I'll answer RockMom's question...if UK loses tonight, I don't think they are overrated either. I think on paper, Kansas had the best team with UK and Cuse close behind. Nuff said...tip time. Go CATS!
