March 18, 201016 yr FX has a new show about a federal marshall from KY who gets sent back to KY against his wishes. Its set in Harlan. Solid first show but I can imagine some EKY folks aren't happy with the portrayal. Anyone?

I'll give it :thumb::thumb: for now.

Anyone not from that area should know that not all people are like the bad guys in this show.
March 18, 201016 yr Author I don't think it portrayed EKY folks in a bad way. It portrayed Nazi Rednecks in a bad way. Anyone not from that area should know that not all people are like the bad guys in this show. Agreed but that doesn't mean that some/many who already have the incorrect stereotype will not have it reinforced.

Seriously, are there any Nazi Rednecks in Eastern KY, cause I've lived here my whole life, and I've yet to see any.
March 22, 201016 yr Seriously, are there any Nazi Rednecks in Eastern KY, cause I've lived here my whole life, and I've yet to see any. I'm sure there are a few. They are all over the nation. They may not be as wild as the ones in this show though.
March 22, 201016 yr Seriously, are there any Nazi Rednecks in Eastern KY, cause I've lived here my whole life, and I've yet to see any. Now there is KKK rednecks, but I don't know any Nazi...
March 24, 201016 yr There are some very bad "actors" in KY and I think it is Dawson Springs like Rocket mentioned. I am through about half the show. I like Shane from The Shield as an actor but the crime scenes are beyond stupid and would have them getting caught ten times over. In other words, the show has potential in my mind but the crime scenes are poorly executed.
March 24, 201016 yr I'm sure there are a few. They are all over the nation. They may not be as wild as the ones in this show though. I won't rule it out as impossible, but if it's so, they are extremely quiet. Now there is KKK rednecks, but I don't know any Nazi... Exactly.

March 24, 201016 yr I'm pretty sure there is a Nazi type compound near Dawson Springs, but thats WKY It's the headquarters for the Imperial Klans of America. I saw an episode of "Gangland" about this group. Apparently the people at The History Channel don't know much about the geography of Kentucky, as the repeatedly made mention of the groups compound just outside of Louisville. As Harry Doyle would say "Just a bit outside."
March 24, 201016 yr First reference to people sleeping with their cousin. "It's not like we're first cousins." I'm of a mind to drop it on the spot.
March 24, 201016 yr much like UK Basketball, it really doesn't matter what we do, people are still going to have the same opinion. Who cares really?
