Ochocinco to do a VH1 Dating show

I have policy that dictates what I can and cannot do so yes I would have to run everything by my employer but that is not the point. I am not saying Chad has to run anything by his employer, I am saying he is a professional athlete that is paid millions of dollars a year on a team that underachieves and he needs to set an example as a leader on that team and attend all the off season workouts and make the Bengals his top priority.

There in lies the problem with Chad that a lot of people have blinders too. If he were a leader like many believe then he would make his TEAM his top priority. It has always been about HIM and it always will be. I think he has fun, has passion and works hard when he wants too but he would have been much better in an individual sport. Unfortunatly for him football is the ultimate team game and he will never get that in his career.

I laugh at people applauding him for preparing for life after football so much. Isn't he still under contract or has he retired? He's going to get his opportunites after he retires to do all this side show stuff. I'm with you 100% he should be a leader at this point in his career for the Bengals but he's not.

Have you lost your mind? Chad is a football player and without football he wouldn't sniff DWTS or VH1.

I have said it for years, Chad is a cancer but we/the Bengals are pretty much stuck with him.

:thumb: If it were me I would have found a way to deal him. I can't tell you how mad I was that they didn't take the 2 1st rounders from Wash for him a few years back!

And now that he has the fame from football, why should he not follow his dreams? Just because football is more important to some of you doesn't mean it's more important to him, regardless of how he made it to VH1. Sure, football made him famous, but if it's not his top priority, who cares? It's his decision. Obviously he'd never admit publicly that football is not his top priority because that would instantly kill his income. If he could make the same amount of money entertaining people on TV or playing football and had to choose one, you honestly think he'd play football? I certainly do not.

Do you all think Ocho is really coming up with these ideas. Listen to him talk and you can immediately tell he is one of the dullest knives in the drawer.

I am a fan on his FB page just so I can see the ridiculous, grammatically atrocious posts he presents to his fans. They are hilarious to read. For instance, last night he says, "Driving down Melrose and not a McDonalds anywhere in sight"

What an idiot....Im tired of his act. Bring in some athletes who can produce and get the job done and not be a distraction.

Chad is one of the hardest working individuals in the organization. Why is it so hard for people to understand that you can be productive and have fun at the same time.

:thumb: I couldn't agree more. Hopefully, he'll fall in love with the show and decide not to come back.

I understand what you all are saying. However I have seen you all mention other jobs and things like that. Well when you all have vacation time, do you use that vacation time to try to become better at what you do for a living? If I had to guess, you all do not. For your jobs do you all just try to make sure you do your job well, or do you try to make sure other people do their jobs well too? I would say more often than not, you just focus more on your self and your work. Unless you are a boss and your job is to help your employees. Chad Johnson is not the boss of this organization, or a caption or anything like that. He is just simply an employee, so I think its wrong to try to say what he should be doing with his time, when most people would do that for their current jobs.

Is he a leader, no not at all. However some people just are not cut out to leaders, but that doesn't mean they are a bad football player or bad for the team. The coaches and even his teammates have said many of times, how he is usually one of the hardest workers there. Except for the 2008 season, he had always came into football in great shape and produced to.

So if a guy does work hard, and he produces on the football field he isn't a good player to have just because he doesn't act like a leader and does some other things in the off season? What sense does that make? Chad's job is to produce on the football field, and so far in his career he has done a very good job at doing that. Would it be nice if he can try to be a leader to? Yeah that would be, however he is not. That doesn't mean he is not good for the team, and shouldn't be here. The guy produces out there, and does the job he is paid to do.

If him doing these things keep him from producing on the football field next year, then come back and give me all the crow you all want. However except for the year in 2008 when he just didn't want to be here, he has always produced no matter what he did in the off season.

Now I do agree with this. Chad wouldn't have these opportunities, if it wasn't for him being a football player. Chad has football to thank for him even getting these chances. :thumb:

I can promise you this... if I were making millions upon millions of dollars in the NFL where I know I have a short window to play then I would be busting my rear to be the very best I could be and I would be a team player. I got it in High School that football was the ultimate team game not a me game. I would be working out because I know there are guys out there trying to outwork me. I WOULD NOT be on Dancing With The Stars while I was still playing. If he wants to do it after he retires then I applaude him but not while they need him to lead. I also WOULD NOT be doing a reality dating show. I had plenty of game without the fame so unlike guys like Flava Flave I wouldn't need a dating show for the help  Nice shoes he's walking in though.

Chad is good. There are a lot of good WR's in the league. I'd much rather have one that is about the team and not so much about himself. That's the bottom line for me. He's here and thanks to Mike Browns sorry ability to build a team he's not going anywhere. It's to the point you expect the sideshow. As an entertainer I have no problem with Chad. As a team player I think he's sorry.

Besides 2008 year, what year did Chad come in out of shape and not ready to play football? Usually every year when he comes in, the coaches are even talking about what great shape he is in. So he must be doing something right, because he always seems ready once training camp starts. Yeah we see all these things he does on the side, however we have no idea what else he does during the day. Its not like he is going to post "Yeah I just got done lifting weights, working on conditioning and practicing routes" that is not fun at all. So just because he doesn't talk about it, doesn't mean he is not doing the things he needs to be doing. I think it shows that he usually does do what he needs to do, since he is always in great shape ready to go, except for 2008 and that was just because he was trying to make a point to get traded.

If it was me yes I would be at all the volunteer stuff. However he is not the only player that misses a lot of the volunteer stuff. I bet you would find at least a couple of the better players on teams throughout the NFL who miss some of the volunteer stuff. Do you all think those teams would be better off without those guys too? As long as he comes back in shape and ready to play football that is what matters, and he has always done that.

I do not believe anyone feels Chad is coming to camp out of shape or that he does not give 100% when on the field. That is all he is technically required to do. But it is a legit argument to be made that when your job pays you 8 million a year (or whatever he makes) to be the leader of your organization, you have somewhat of an obligation to your employer to be more committed than what he is. Again, what Chad does his business, and I have no problem with it.

I still don't know why you consider him doing TV shows selfish. He loves entertaining and he likes the spotlight. What's the big deal? It has nothing to do with his leadership issues if he's having fun in the offseason. What does a dancing competition have to do with being a team player? I still do not understand why in the world this is considered selfish. He's promoting himself and people across the nation LIKE Chad, believe it or not. He's entertaining and people like watching him. Why would he not want to do a reality show, or a dancing competition if he has the opportunity? When Chad retires are these offers still going to be on the table? Probably not. He's doing what he wants to do when the offers are on the table IN THE OFFSEASON. He likes having fun, and some of you guys take his fun as selfishness. I don't get it.

This isn't even original....TO had a show on VH1 a couple of years ago...A cross between that and Flavor of love, the bachelor, a shot at love, a real chance at love, etc...
