Did anyone else have trouble with Wazoo's broadcast last night? It froze a lot and was very blurry. Not complaining, just wondering if it was my computer or not.

Ballard,s game plan was to pressure the guards full court defensively, and throw up threes at every opportunity and hope to get rebound and putback.Thew were 6-31 on 3's.Late Male turnovers gave Ballard the win.

Ballard is relentless with their pressure. They just keep coming at you. They did take a lot of bad three's. However, Male played Zone most of the night and let them shoot. Male could not keep them off the bds. Ballard D kept Male from scoring the last 4 mins of the game. Great effort by Male just couldnt hold off Ballard.

Getting out of the 6th or 7th region any year is a huge accomplishment, but this year's 7th region seemed even more difficult than most.

Male is the case in point. They entered tournament play with a 12-13 record, I believe and nearly won the region. And, for anybody who is familiar with the region, it wasn't that surprising.

Same with the 6th...Butler lost 6 of 8 heading into to tournament play. They beat the top team in the region, Iroquois, not once, but twice within a week to win the region. I think its always difficult to beat a good team in the District finals and then do it again in the region.

Congratulations to all the teams.

That's Ballard's game plan every game! They never run a set play, they always gamble on defense, and they always have athletes that make it work. Commentator even said on television last night that if you like watching fundamental basketball teams then you probably won't be a fan of Ballard. Obviously it works well for them though so why not play that way?

Male is not a good shooting team and that caught up with them in the 4th. That and Horne at 6-4, being the tallest player on the court, getting his 4th foul early in the 4th doomed Male.

Ballard is more fundamental than given credit especially on Defense. You can call it gambling if you want cause some of it is. However, Ballard does a lot of jump and running on D and that is coached and practiced. You have to know when and where to trap. Every time Male turns their back Ballard jumps and they are so quick in their rotations. Sometimes it dont work and you give up layups and people call it gambling. It just mentally wears teams down. As far as on offense, Male played zone and stayed inside forcing Ballard to shoot form outside. I saw Ballard run several sets to get people open vs Zone.
