Going to Boston

Featured Replies

Boston is one of the most exciting cities on the east coast and the subway system is easy to navigate and will take you wherever you need to go (a designated driver the way I see it:D). The Freedom Trail is a definite must and the harbor tours are cool (and there is a bar onboard the boats). Boston Common is also amazing.

Definitely take the train. Parking downtown is horrendous, and horrendously expensive.

Please come to Boston for the spring time,

I'm staying here with some friends and they've got lots of room.

I almost did that myself, but I didn't want to be "that guy." :D

Aquarium and Museum of Science really good...especially on rainy days. There are historical tours of the old textile industry up in Lawrence where you can glimpse a very different lifestyle than what we are used to today.

You're dating yourself. Gonna have to change your name to mcpapaw.

The Bull and Finch (Cheers) will be packed! Prepare to be elbow to elbow with friendly north easterners!

Yep.:D Saw Dave Loggins at Morehead back in the day; I think he opened for "Jim "Spiders and Snakes" Stafford.

"and that ain't what it takes to love me,,,"

Go to the JFK Museum. It's a quick trip from downtown too...take the T (orange line) out to UMass bus stop and you're there. It is worth the trip.

Some other sites I didn't see mentioned are the Paul Revere House, Fanueil Hall, and the Old North Church. If the weather is decent take the Freedom Trail...if you enjoy history then this is a blast and all these spots are along the route (with many many more). I'd also recommend Mike's Pastries along the way. :D

I'd also try and go to a Bruins game if they are in town. The townies make the Bruins games much more fun than the Celtics games.

At the Celtics game now, just got done with the starting line up!

In the North End: Trattoria Scalinatella, Cafe Vittoria and 5 North Square.:thumb:

Drink a Peroni and have a good trip!
