March 1, 201016 yr What do you mean give it a rest? You must have missed the memo. You're only allowed to bring up officials when they're against UofL or for UK.
March 1, 201016 yr I could buy that. :thumb: IMO, it was more of a "must win" than a "good win." And at the end of the day, I suppose they're the same things. I agree it was more of a must win. But when you cheer for a team that you don't know how they will play night in and night out, these wins also become good wins. This is a season that all wins are good this time of year.
March 1, 201016 yr Glad they pulled it out. Congrats to Soso for making that shot at the end! However I still think he is a head case!!:lol:
March 1, 201016 yr Big win for Louisville's tournament hopes, but I have a question for those who think this gets Louisville in the tournament. Did you think that Louisville just needed another win on the road, or do you truly think that winning @ UCONN is a good win? If it's the latter, consider the following: UCONN is 7-9 in the Big East. UCONN has HOME Losses to Pittsburgh (understandable), Marquette, Cincinnati and now Louisville. They do have one good home win over Texas (who is reeling) & another solid win over WVU. Unfortunately for UK & UL fans, UCONN is not a tournament team. They are 17-12 and 7-9 in conference play. Their only "Good wins" out of conference are against Harvard & Texas. They won @ Nova & beat WVU @ home, but Nova has lost 3 out of their last 4. I think Louisville makes the tournament, but I don't think that this is the statement win that some are making it out to be. I think that, even if UCONN beat UL, they would still be out of the tourney. Regardless, any win on the road in conference is big, particularly when you're on the bubble. It was a big game because they were both fighting for a spot. Uconn was favored, Uconn has beat Nova and WVU in the past week, they've played very well since Calhoun returned, RPI top 50 road win, etc. And, they are very much a bubble team IMO. They win out, they'll get in the tourney. 9-9 will get them in. Now I agree, it's not as big of a win as @Cuse or something, but when you put into perspective it was a very big win for UofL. It wasn't a signature win, just a solid win.

March 1, 201016 yr UCONN has HOME Losses to Pittsburgh (understandable), Marquette, Cincinnati and now Louisville. That stat requires some explanation. UConn splits home games between the XL Center in Hartford (about an hour from Storrs) and the Gampel Pavilion (which is on campus in Storrs). The Huskies were unbeaten in Gampel Pavilion prior to yesterday with all home losses coming in Hartford.
March 1, 201016 yr It's a win over a team that is going to be in the NIT. It's a good win the get when you are on the bubble as UL is, but any win is. UCONN is mediocre at best. UCONN was mediocre earlier this year when they were losing games, especially the narrow loss to UK, in a game you said had a "tournament feel." They have been much better recently asthey have made a stretch run to get in the tournament.

The UK win and the Lousiville win against them shouldn't count as a "good" win.
