Walter
Big win for the Dores. Guess SV isn't as dominant a force in EKY as some think.
Midnight Rider
Good win! SV is trying to get some tough games in before the 15th region tourney.
wideopen
I have watched Perry Central play two or three times and they are hard to press. Looks like they made Shelby Valley play a slow down game.
The Professor
I have watched Perry Central play two or three times and they are hard to press. Looks like they made Shelby Valley play a slow down game. Correct. Shelby Valley's press didn't really bother Perry Central very much, like it has many of their opponents this year. They usually get quite a few points off turnovers. Amis is a quick and crafty guard for the Commodores. PCC played their usual slow paced, ball control game (just like Coach Hatcher played when he coached at Graves County), kept the score low, and won the game. Cover Corner
If Shelby Valley can not pressure you into turnovers they can not beat you. They beat up on less athletic Eastern Kentucky teams, but when someone has athletes comparable to theirs or does not get rattled by pressure they struggle. That is why they can not win the State Championship. Elite level teams (Scott Co, Holmes, Trinity, etc) will not be bothered by kids that are less athletic than them pressing. In All
Looks like they made Shelby Valley play a slow down game. And that's exactly what they had to do for them to be able to compete against SV. Hatcher put together a quality game-plan & his team executed. As for SV, I don't think this is a bad loss, but it was of concern that they got all but sixteen of their points from two players. Still think they can make a run in the sweet sixteen. NEXT
I'm not an SV homer at all, but a little home cooking played a factor in this game too...........but to be fair SV should have never put themselves in that situation
TrueBlueWildcat
Good win for Perry County and a bad loss for SV. They beat themselves but to call them overrated or anything as such is a little questionable. Shelby Valley still has a really good team but as some have said if they can't cause turnovers then they can be beat especially against evenly matched teams.
