Skip Bayless-"John Wall is a shooting guard"

Featured Replies

You want your point guard to have as many if not more to's than assists per game. Just because you handle the ball and dribble drive don't make you a true point. He IS a point guard, never said he wasn't, just leans to a 2 in most games, which is what Bayless says.

Holy Macaroni Batman!

Are you watching the games or just Skip Bayless? No wonder Woody Paige bailed on that moron on First Take. It's like arguing with a democrat about healthcare reform. Not sure what it is, but knows they should argue in favor of it.

Whether he is a 1 or 2 , He can play point for my team anytime.:ylsuper::ylsuper:

I think some people just have the old perception that point guards shouldn't be scorers. Things have changed a lot though, and even great point guards can be scorers too. John Wall is definitely a PG, he just happens to be a scoring pg. He can run the team and make great passes, but he is also able to score.

So let me get this straight. Since Wall has uncanny athleticism and can't do things such as rebound his position, catch and finish oop dunks, get tip dunks, pull up off the dribble, attack the rim, contest shots at the rim, and occasionally hit some jumpers, that makes him more of a two guard?

If you ask me, or as it appears anyone with the sense of basketball, then that just makes him one of the greatest PG prospects of all time. He is super athletic, a lot more athletic than your standard point guard, but he can also handle the rock, and make pin point passes. He has unbelievable court vision, and more often than not gets the ball where it is supposed to go (isn't that what PG does). He has shown he can be a great leader out on the court, and is good at directing the flow of the offense. The thing is he can do all the things a pure point can do, he can just do so many other things with it we are not used to seeing a PG do. This fact doesn't make him anymore of a two IMO.....Some people will just stretch for anything though.

Wall is the BEST PG in the country. End of story. Bayless says the things he says to get a response out of people. He doesn't/can't believe half the stuff he says.

Here's some advice, don't watch the cold pizza (or whatever it's called) show.

As soon as I see Skip Bayless, I turn the channel.

I'm not upset about what he said because he is wrong most of the time. But some of the stuff he said has to make a person laugh. Wow this thread really took off!

Skip Bayless is a talking head. A talking head without a brain.

Maybe he thinks he plays defense like a 2 guard. I really like Walls play but no one ever talks about his defense. He gets beat off the dribble all the time and that causes someone else to pick up his man and he stands and watches. Bledsoe also plays his man to the side and lets him take it to the rim also. They make some plays on defense sometimes but more often than not they let their man beat them off the dribble. Cal never says a word about that. I'm glad Wall is at Ky but he kills me every game on defense.:ohbrother:

I liken this to Jay Williams saying that KY didn't want to run with Florida a few weeks back. I'm convinced that a lot of these jokers make statements about these teams without ever watching them play. I think they go by what they've done in the past and go with that.

Agree with this Quote and the one about Skip Brainless these guys do not watch that many games or they are not very wise about basketball. Kansas could run with Kentucky and maybe a few other schools anyone else tha tried to run with the Cats gets blown out of the gym.

I'm a Skip fan, because he entertains me and I don't take anything he other talking heads say seriously. I don't think Skip even likes college basketball. If the NBA ran from noon til midnight Skip would watch all 48 minutes of each game.
