Not a dig I'm just saying you normaly son't see that from the crazies. It's more of a compliment to the normal success of the crazies.

Well that is true, I don't know why "every student" didn't attend but I do know enough parents that told their Sons that due to the weather they weren't going to allow them to drive to the game. Sixteen and Seventeen year old young men, with little or no experence in driving in a snow storm at night, yea I think those parenst who I know that told their kids no, were smart to not allow them to drive to this game.

Every year CovCath plays at Holy Cross the crazies are in overflowing force. As a parent my kid would not have driven there. I'm saying it was the snow.

I heard a rumor a couple days before the game that some of the CCh students wouldn't be making the tripp because they don't like the Finn. It's a rumor so take it FWIW.

It seems to me that some of the HC fans are upset because the CovCath Crazies didn't attend this game because?:confused:

 

1) They love to watch the Crazies perform? No that can't be it! :lol:

2) They love to give them a bad time? No that can't be it! :lol:

3) They love CovCath because, The Crazies bring a huge crowd of cash paying customers! Winner Winner!!!!!! :clap:

 

Honestly I can't blame the CovCath students for disliking the Finn. No parking, and with the size of the gym it's hard to get in, if the crowd is big and if you don't arrive early.

 

My personal reason for disliking the Finn unless it's been address since two or three years ago, is the poor handicapped access to the gym for someone in a wheelchair. As someone who works with the handicapped daily, it bother me what a person in a WC must go through to get up to the gym! If it's been addressed in recent years then great, if not.....:irked:

I agree the crowd was very good, considering the snowpocalypse that was predicted. I would estimate the Finn was 85%-90% filled. Over the past two years the Crazies in the stands have consistently outperformed the Colonels on the court. The Colonels had one of their most challenging seasons in recent memory last year and are just a smidge over .500 this year, yet the Crazies (for the most part) remain an entertaining force. It is alot easier to fill the house when the team is mowing down the competition. The Colonels lost 5 of their first 6 home games this year.

 

The Holy Cross students made their typical great showing on Friday. I was hoping to see Moses parting the Red Sea cheer that the Indians have done in the past. That is one of my all time favorites. :notworthy:

Covington Catholic (Park Hills, KY): Covington Catholic could be home to the best student section in high school basketball. Each game is accompanied by a theme, whether it be toga, village people, etc. .

I had the chance to see Jaylen Beckham again last night when his Lexington Catholic team traveled up my way to play the Covington Catholic Colonels.

 

First off, the CovCath crowd is probably having more fun than any crowd in the nation right now, college teams included. After starting off the varsity game with a sing and dance along to Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA” (screaming “…and the Jay-Z song was on”) they didn’t stop the rest of the way. We need to box them up and ship them all to the Erupption Zone. Stop by and check out the CovCath crowd if you get a chance.They bring the ridiculousness that KSR fans tend to love.

 

 

BTW I won't forget to mention that the Crazies won a KHSAA sportsmanship award in 2006. At the time, the Crazies were the first student section in the long history of the Kentucky Sweet Sixteen to win such an award!

 

So over-hyped? Maybe to a rival fan base but that's three neutral sources and if I could find the USA Today article of a couple years ago that would be four! So over-hyped? Not really!

I didn't want to offend you TOG. No need to go looking all over to try and prove me wrong. I can tell you that I know the Crazies are crazy and one of if not the best student sections anywhere.

CovCath guards matched up better with guards from Holy Cross than they did Scott. Holy Cross guards do not try and break you down on defense and really attack the basket. Burger can shoot lights out but doesn't really look to get to the rim.
