Too bad he can't get something in writing. In the event he blows out his knee freshman year his schooling would still be paid for. No risk for Lane Change except the publicity which he feeds off anyway. This kid now has a bullseye on him in every football game he plays.

I don't see why we care? I'm the biggest Lame basher and have been since day 1...I mean, he is the ONLY guy that can make Al Davis look good, but who really cares? I thought NCAA rules stated that schools can not talk to or offer an athlete any thing until the summer of said athlete's junior year of HS???

^The QB guru gave the kid Lane's number according to ESPN. Coaches cannot initate the contact with the kids, but I guess they can talk to them if the kid calls them.

I don't really see how you can blame him. It's the NCAA that needs to be blamed IMO. For once he is playing by the rules. It's a terrible idea for kids that young to worry about what college to play at but if there isn't rules against it then it's going to happen.

My understanding of this is:

 

1. The kid can't be offered an official scholly until he is a jr. in high school. The NCAA doesn't recognize this.

 

2. While the kid has "committed", this isn't official until he signs a letter of intent. He can't do this until the first Wednesday in February of his senior season.

 

Would I do what Kiffin did here, no. Am I going to raise a stink, no. This is another publicity stunt in a long line of them with this guy. Cnograts, he made the news and got people talking about USC two days before the Super Bowl.
