I will not quote KofK for fear that his post may be deemed outside the boundaries of BGP, but that is funny stuff :D:lol:

It's been a blast, but I think it's time to tuck this one in and say nighty-night.

Again, it's unfortunate that the game could not be contested. Everyone has their opinions as to why it couldn't be played as scheduled on Friday and as offered by Mason County on Sunday, and some of us are right.:D

I strongly disagree that the game was meaningless. It wouldn't have been on the schedule if that was the case. Imagine this - Clark County comes into the HCA Fieldhouse dinged up and beats the Royals, as many in this thread have assumed. What a boost that would give the Cardinals! A big statement in the 10th Region, and a chance to nip a 2-game skid in the bud without having to wait another week.

Even if Mason County had been fortunate/lucky/good enough to win, the Cardinal faithful would have the opportunity to rationalize and say that they would have fared better were it not for the injuries.

It would also give Clark the opportunity to play a game at the regional tournament site - always a "preparation plus", in my humble opinion. Gives a team that hasn't been there for a couple of years the chance to see what changes have been made at the site. For example, there's a new 2008 state championship banner hanging next to the 2003 banner that could make a small difference in depth perception.

Anyway, it's been fun. I've honestly enjoyed the banter on both sides of the fence. It appears that we may even have a couple of budding comedians as part of the BGP membership.

I agree with everything you said.

And with that especially astute and insightful comment, we'll say adieu.:thumb:
