Also have lost to the best the state has literally!! Mason County is the Achilles heel for GRC. This particular group of Cards still needs to get over the hump against Mason. If they don't get past the Royals in the post season then who cares if they've played the best in the state. I don't think the GRC kids would ever back down from Mason, but I do believe a mental hurdle may exist.

Why do you think that? Stenzel is the only player on this years team that was on the 07 team who won the region. None of the players except for Stenzel and Rogers got much if any playing time in 08'. Last year they went 1-1 against Mason. How is there a mental hurdle?

0-2 in the postseason over the last two years.

They have some very nice quality wins on the season. They aren't in state but they beat Huntsville Alabama, Memphis Central (probably best team they've played all year), then Male, Shelby County and LCA. No, they haven't beaten more of the 7th region teams they've played but every team is going to take some lumps. They were right there with Scott Co and without a mental letdown probably should of won that game. The Lex Cath game was a disappointment but GRC never plays them well.

More than half the team didn't even play in the first game you speak of so I don't believe that's a factor.

Take away the phantom midcourt foul on a Stenzel last second desperation three pointer, in the regular season game, and GRC would have been 0-2 in 2009.

Take away the complete meltdown by GRC in the 2nd half of the region championship game and GRC was 2-0. We can play that game all day. :D

And more than half of Mason's team is lost to graduation from the last two years, but we're still in the mix as always.

 What does that have to do with having a mental edge? If anything, that would be advantage GRC.

No mental hurdle, you say. Your above statement sums up what I'm trying to get across.

Going away from our gameplan and getting out of control has nothing to do with a mental hurdle. Believe me.

Game was proposed to be moved up to 6pm on Friday, no dice. Game was also asked to be played on Saturday and Sunday. Again, no dice. Last word received, Clark County does not want to reschedule. Hopefully, both teams will get to meet up in March.

Doesn't every bodies players graduate eventually?

I would say a case of little brother saving big brother some embarrassment!

That meltdown had everything to do with Masons pressure full court that was in your face. Without a point guard to control the ball and pressure, this year might not be any different. GRC would be just about unbeatable if they had that cool, calm point guard that could handle top pressure. I am not saying anything negative about anyone trying to handle that spot currently, but the PG is the key to the ignition on the floor.

Too bad. I guess it was just impossible to honor the game on the schedule. Inclement weather, college visits. There are probably a couple more open dates, but I'm guessing someone probably has a haircut scheduled.

Looks like it's almost time to put this thread to bed, as it is becoming rather obvious that the regular-season game ain't gonna happen.
