This is a good young team. To play the best in the state and lose by 3 is a statement. I think expectations are high for these young men but we need to remember these are mostly underclassmen...JUNIORS! They will be a tough out for anyone in the state this year and whoa nelly you can stand by next year! They improve every game and to hold a talented team like Scott county to 67 points is good defense.So take your shot now because the best is yet to come!

I agree, the only thing I could see is that Euton had the ball and didn't want to foul him. Double teamed him, but he got the pass out. Agree on making us better.

 

Euton and G-Lawn both shoot near 80 percent from the foul line. I think Coach H was wanting to get Jackson or Manning on the foul line late. Both those guys are 60 percent FT shooters. Sometimes even the best laid plans come up short.

This is what I was thinking too. This is the first regular season game that GRC has lost. The other 4 losses were to region 7 in Holiday tourneys. Still have ranked teams of Lexington Catholic, Lafayette, and Ballard coming up on the schedule.

I had the pleasure of sitting right in front of GS at the game. Let me tell you she is the #1 fan GRC has. And also she knows what she is talking about when it comes to basketball. I really enjoyed sitting with her.

She usually gets a good seat as well. Must have some connections to get those wonderful seats....:lol:

Did the Scott Run and Jump cause GRC to turn the ball over? Earlier you mentioned their spacing against the press and getting someone to the middle of the floor, so I assumed the Scott D caused them problems.

Scott Co doubled teamed and forced the ball to the side . I thought Clark did pretty good against it until the the last two minutes. I think maybe if Clark had a man at the head of the circle to get the ball to, it would help.

I thought Clark played great defense tonight and have been playing very good defense in the past games.

A rowdy crowd of more than 2,000 watched two of the state's top teams play a bruising 32 minutes of basketball.

"Definitely the most physical game we've played all year," said Scott County senior Chad Jackson, who had 27 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

 

Scott County's defense in the closing two minutes was the difference.

Leading 62-61, Clark County threw the ball away on consecutive possessions, with Scott County's Dakotah Euton picking off both passes.

The visitors converted the turnovers into Ge-Lawn Guyn's driving layup, and Euton's two free throws, to take a 65-62 lead.

After Clark County's Corey Rogers muscled in a layup to get within one, Guyn missed the front end of the bonus with 23 seconds left.

But Clark County couldn't take advantage.

Scott County then avoided letting Clark County foul anybody in the last 13 seconds, and got the ball to Jackson, who threw down his game-ending dunk.

 

Clark County's schedule doesn't ease up. It plays host to No. 11 Lexington Catholic on Tuesday, visits 10th Region rival Mason County on Friday, and travels to No. 14 Lafayette next week.

IF...they normally score 85 and you hold them to 67 that would be good defense:confused:

IMO this game should make GRC the favorite to win the 10th region. We should all have a better idea after this week's games. I don't think that Mason Co. at home will give up that title without a fight and Lexington Catholic should be a tough game as well. GRC has a tough stretch driving toward the districts and I believe they are a hardened enough team to handle the stretch. They are an impressive team and would make a great representative in the state tournament.

Canceled on Saturday because of the snow. So, they immediately made it up. My guess is both teams could find a better date the rest of the season.
