I used to love them when I was living at home (a LOOOONNNNNGGG time ago).

Love em' if they're doctored up.

Uh...not sure....what are they? I am reluctant to guess...:sssh:

I don't think I've ever had the actual Beanie Weenies. I just made my own from a can of Campbell's Pork'n Beans and some hot dogs.

Whew! It's food!!

Ugh. But, at least it's better than potted meat (something that completely confuses me).

Easy now, you're treading on sacred territory. Don't you know that potted meat, vienna sausages and spam form the Redneck Holy Trinity of foods.

Cracked me up.

Its beans and franks from a can. Not as good as home made, but still pretty good. You can doctor them up like mcpapa any way you want.

I hadn't tried them since college but recently bought some for my kids and I rediscovered my love for them.

That's some good stuff. However, I won't read the ingredients, because I know it's some nasty stuff.

I wouldn't say that I "love" Beenee Weenees, but it's a staple of my diet when I go backpacking. It makes for an easy easy quick meal, with a pretty decent protein kick...plus the added bonus that you can cook it right in the can.

You can eat them right from the can. Or if you're camping, etc., you can stick the can right in the fire's coals and warm them up. Good stuff.

Horrible, horrible stuff. Way back in the day when my parents were on a shoestring budget, potted meat sandwiches were a staple. I think my mom tried to see just how thin a layer she could spread over the bread.

Along with those varieties of cheese, where we recycled the jars as juice glasses, potted meat made for some nasty take-to-school lunches.

Mmmmm...spreadable meat.
