She was a cute little Freshmen when I was a senior. I would never have approached her then. Much too shy. Fast forward to us both teaching in the district we graduated from. I am teaching/coaching her sister and she is teaching with my cousin's wife. They both fix us up as they knew I had a crush on her.

 

Our first date: Van Halen concert.

Our seconde date: WWF cage match between Ric Flair and Randy Savage. She was a Flair fan and I was snapped into a Slim Jim.

Our third date: Barbara Streissand and Nick Nolte movie about Bridges or something.

 

9 months after our first date, marriage.

Married her.

I asked this question because this has happened to me recently.

Many moons ago when I was a young lad at 16 I had a huge crush on a friend sister, but never said anything. Well a few weeks ago she struck up a conversation with me and we decided to “hang out.” It went so well that we are going to go out again this coming Saturday.

 

Doesn't that violate bro code?

Funny story on our courtship was I was coaching boys freshmen basketball and we were practicing at her school. I would stop by to see my cousin's wife and mosey over to her room to see my HS crush.

 

While there I would try and compliment her on something. One day I made a comment about all the new and creative things in her classroom. Like the white bags, what are they for? She said really. I repeated, Yeah, what are they for?

 

They are lice bags that the kids put their coats in so that the lice doesn't jump from coat to coat.
