Regaurdless of who is the best player on the team or not there is not another point gaurd in the 2011 class in NKY that is even close to Trammel you have 5 big men on your top 5 right now. Trammel, Hatton, Pike, Stansberry Next year is gonna be a nice looking roster.

 

I don't understand why so many people thank that the Rice kid is so good, i'd take Geisler and Montgomery over anybody on that List. Thelen shoots the ball 35 times a game i'd hope he'd be able to put up 20 a game and Stauffer just plays hard i wouldnt consider him a top player.

Kellen Smith will be the best pg in nky next year, hands down. Jacob Flesch of Conner is right behind him.

 

Dixie will be solid next year but not top 5. They'll have experience for sure but the group you just listed will be an average 9th region team. Covcath, Holmes, Boone, Conner, and Highlands will all have better teams next year.

 

Rice is one of the more versatile big men in nky but gets overshadowed by the Johnson Brothers and Pittman. Rice is averaging 7 ppg and 4 rpg right now. He'll be Holmes leading scorer next year and main source of offense. When playing against kids his own age, he has dominated. He averaged over 20 ppg over the summer with the Queen City Prophets and also averaged around 20 ppg his sophomore year while playing JV, before being pulled up to strictly varsity.

 

Your comment about Thelen taking a lot of shots is also incorrect. Thelen is currently averaging 20.1 ppg on 14 shots per game. Pretty efficient if you ask me.

 

Trammel won't be top 3 in nky next year. Next year will be dominated by big men.

Jeremiah Johnson of Holmes is in the top 5 somewhere. Some of you are over looking him big time. He's averaging 10 ppg and 7 rpg for Holmes right now.

They have some young talent coming up and I'm pretty sure they swept the freshman and JV titles last year and just missed a sweep in the varsity's loss to Holmes in the region championship. They'll be led by Cooper Downs, Travis Montgomery, and Trevan Brown.

 

Holmes will obviously miss the Johnson Brothers, Pittman, and Avery but their junior class is pretty solid. Their front court will consist of Kevon Rice and younger brother Dontel Rice, who is averaging around 20 ppg at the JV level. Dontel might end up being better than Kevon. Much smoother. Chris Hayes, Jaleel Gray, Christian McClendon, and Pierre Mayfield will lead them in the back court. This same group only lost 4 games at the JV level as sophomores and made it to the JV region title without Rice playing. Two of those losses came to Boone. Holmes also has some size down low with 6'5 Hoskins and 6'8 Stephenson. If developed, Stephenson could be tough. Very raw right now though, to say the least.

 

Highlands has a huge senior class but from what I've heard, have some talent coming up in the sophomore class. They'll be led by one of the better big men in NKY next year in Jack Stewart. IF Bruns, J. True, and Carter New all stick with basketball, they could be a nice compliment to Alex Dean, Conor Crowley, and Pat Towles.

I dont know where your stats come from but Dontel is good but not anywhere near 20 a game. McClendon is their leading scorer.

Dixie has been playing without Trammel all year who is key to running their offense - Hatton is a shooting guard and has been playing out of position. They will be filled with shooters and they lose the least to graduation of all of the teams you mentioned. Holmes loses a ton and will be competetive but they won't be anything close to this year. Highlands will be trying to regain their feet after graduation. CovCath will be looking for big men besides Thelen.

Dont forget sharpshooter Ryan Egan current Highlands Jr. He can light it up from downtown and with Stewart working the paint they will have a nice inside/out combo. Towles could be 6'6 by next year and Crowley should improve and be a nice scorer. I think the Birds will be just as good as any team in the Region next year. Boone has a very nice Jr class and Dixie will be tough as well but I would have the Birds in the Top 5 again next year even with the Sr's leaving, atleat #5. Conner will also return a nice class next year and could crack the Top 5 as well.

They have 2 other 6'5" players that will be playing. I'd say they'll be alright.

Not sure I follow your logic on quick teams giving them trouble either. Trammel and Hatton will possibly be the best 1-2 guard combo in the region and Pike and Stansberry are as quick of big men running the floor as you'll find. They will have a very athletic team. :thumb:

I would definately disagree with you there. I would match Robinson up with him any day. Hodges does not have the strength to go inside against Pike, but his jump shot has been really effective. Not to mention the fact that Hodges has close to 100 blocks already this season.

I think Conner will be one of the top teams next year.
