January 19, 201016 yr I didn't like this hire when I first heard about him because he wasn't a big name but that doesn't matter. He does have the Dooley name and that does mean a lot in the SEC!! I think he will do fine. One thing is for sure he won't break any rules like Lane did. He will run a clean program. UK fans might as well as forget for beating UT. It doesn't matter who is in there they will beat UK. My almost 6 month old great niece could coach UT to a win over UK. HA HA HA HA As UK fans, we can't argue that point...however, hearing you say it reminds us all why we hate UT so bad. Thanks for the reminder. I guess we will wait until Thanksgiving weekend to see if it can be any different. Keep up the Lane Kiffen attitude...and please teach your 6 month old great niece how to be a humble winner like you and Lane. :thumb:

Can dish it out, but......

I'll take it right now. Seriously. UT will not be good next season IMO and I think UK will break that streak.
January 19, 201016 yr I honeslty think there was A LOT of pressure to go get a coach right now because it's so late in the game when it comes to recruiting. They spent a ton of cash on Kiffins staff then got shunned by several coaches for the job including one of their own in Cutcliff. I don't think they had the luxuary to keep throwing darts hoping somebody would take the offer. If it didn't work out then they were baked when it comes to recruites. The clock was ticking and they had just blown a bunch of money IMO. If Dooley stays clean then that is better than what Kiffin did. If he wins then they look great. If he loses then it will be easy to fire him. I just think it was a bandaid hire. What has he proven to have a job like the Tenn job in your opinion? I'm not an expert, not part of the UT brain trust, and am definitely no Vol fan. I was asking a question. I can go by what I've seen over the years, though. Going after the big name does not alway produce big results. Butch Davis has done well at North Carolina and Saban at Alabama, but Spurrier has pretty much stunk it up in Columbia and Howard Schnellenberger failed at Oklahoma. Not to mention Callahan at Nebraska, Wiess at ND, and Al Groh at Virginia. In hind sight (which is always 20/20), they all look like bad hires, but at the time they were the hot or big names.

January 19, 201016 yr ^I know it's crazy, but I've never said UK would definitely beat UT before. I just don't see how UT is going to be better than UK next season. Plus I'm a gambler
January 19, 201016 yr I don't believe Dooley was the right hire, maybe I'm being blinded by the lack of Dooley's qualifications, I think it would have been a rough year for Tennessee whether Lane Kiffin, or Derek Dooley were the head coach. At least Lane had his dad running the defense, I doubt Dooley's staff will have someone like Monte. I'll say Tennessee finishes 4-8.

January 19, 201016 yr From a UK Fan? Isn't this like the pot calling the kettle black? Can dish it out, but...... Have you EVER heard me say that we would beat anyone without question? That there was no chance we could lose to a team? I can answer that for you...you haven't. I have never said that nor would I ever. I've watched sports long enough to know that anything can happen and there are NO guarantees. So, keep chiming in about things you have no idea about. If you know me at all and what i'm about then you would realize how ridiculous your statement is. Did I think we could win against UT last year??? You bet I did. Did I think we would??? Not enough to wager on it. And if you are referring to basketball, my attitude is the same there. Do I know we are far and away the cream of the crop historically in the SEC? Yep. Does that mean I'll be foolish and say "your team could never beat my team"? Nope. I'm a realist. Go CATS!

I respect your opinion. Just a difference of opinion on this one. I feel like Tenn knew they were in a pinch and had to move quick.

You guys were right about him. I took up for him from day 1. Then he spit in their face. I'm glad the a hole is gone. She doesn't know anything yet all she does is smile and trying to talk so she doesn't know anything about football yet LOL
