Really...every coach should send out film. How else is a college supposed to find out about their players? We send out film to over 200 colleges. Can all of our kids play there...no. But that's not our decision to make. We get the film in the hands of the college coaches and let them make the decisions. I can't fathom not sending out film. Why would you coach if you don't want to help you players go to college?

Off topic: There are a number of ways to get film to colleges through the mail, hand it to them, or even online. Some times the kids bring in a thing of DVDRs and sometimes the coaches have them. Some times the schools pay the postage for the DVDs to be mailed. You could also put more than one kid on a DVD and put each kid into chapters on the DVD.

I find it funny that people can read a few posts on BGP and seem to know everything that went on between a community and a coach/team. Don't forget, MOST of the negative posts on this or any other site are from disgruntled parents, coaches or players and there shouldn't be much taken from them.

 

With me being a pig from Clay County, I can tell you guys this. One bad apple can spoil the whole barrel. Add about 4 more bad apples and the barrel will spoil much faster. Every county has their group of apples that will spoil or cry the loudest if the head apple don't comply...You know, put all the apples where they think they should be, or maybe he don't rub and buff the right apples. Understand?

 

I'll go out on a limb and say that I know of a few counties where (add the greatest coach you know of here) couldn't align his apples well enough to satisfy the spoilers.

 

Aaron Stepp is by no means perfect, but he is by all means a good football coach.

It costs about $2.50 to mail out a package with a DVD in it. It comes to about $500. The booster club picks up the tab.

That is totally wrong. What made most angry was the way he ran his football program and that he was not doing it for the kids.

 

I guess when you are playing at Watkins field and not being successful then certain people can get upset. Also when kids at a banquet don't get the awards that daddy thinks they should get, then maybe Stepp is better off not being there. I have it on high regards that the same people bashing Stepp are the ones that ran Ledford out of town and then talk about how great Ledford is now. As long as the boosters and parents run the show no coach that does not do what they want then this cycle will not end.

This is high school football, these coaches put in tons of hours for peanuts and if my kid does not get what I think they deserve; then I am going to bash the man taking time from his family to spend time with my child. Maybe we should question the motives of those people.

Most parents think high school football is like college or even pros...if the coach doesn't win then they should be fired...you can only deal with the cards you got. Be patient...with a new coach and new philosophy there needs to be a transition time. To run a coach out after one year is unfair...but I don't know the whole story just giving my 2 cents worth. Good luck to Franklin County on finding a new coach.

You made some great points on here, I believe when you give the keys to the kingdom to the head man he has the power to do what he thinks is right. I think a lot of parents step in where they are not suppose to be, for the sake of there kid and not for the over all program. Lets face it Coach Stepp has turned around a few programs in to winnners so he is not so rookie coach making every mistake possible to go 1-9, I think a lot of parents have alot of pride in winning in which FCHS was doing over the last five or six seasons before last season and when they where not winning it was not there kids fault, it had to be the new coach's fault after all he is not running the system they had won with in passed. I know the had major problems with the last coach before coach Stepp and now they are have the same kind of problems. I know one thing the parents at FCHS need to get behind there new coach that it may take a few years now to turn it around. FCHS may have a problem getting a big name coach in there,because other coachs around the state see that last two coachs where good coachs didn't fair well with the parents and may come to the conclusion that the parents run the program, I hope not, but I know that when coachs get together they like to talk. FCHS has been a winner so it should attact some really talented coachs.

1st of all, Coach Stepp wasn't ran off. He left on his own. He has his family to worry about, and put them 1st. Can't argue with that. Best of luck to him and his family. Also, to compare this to when Coach Ledford left and act like they are the same is so far off base it's ridiculous. There is whole lot more than parents who wish Ledford was still at FCHS including the administration, alumni,sponsors,the feeder systems etc...So don't compare the two situations. BTW, it looks like Coach Ledford is where he is happy. That is what matters isn't it? Good luck to all involved. :thumb:

Went and watched Ledford at Henry this year I had not seen him smile so much since FCHS had the FOUR!

Best thing for Franklin Co. to see Stepp leave. Although he has some close friends on here he is NOT a quality Coach that has been proven with his record against winning teams. He had some good years at Clay but he was getting his W's against the weakest teams in EKY.

Coach Stepp has turn around two programs he is a good coach, I hope things work out for him.

What does Ledford do at Henry? Is he the OC for them?

Ledford called and coordinated the defense at Henry this past year.
