From what I remember, he didnt get along with anybody at Harrison County either. I guess as a coach you can blame the administration, parents, players, etc.. but after you do it at every school your at, maybe its time to look in the mirror.

First of all, I just want to say that until you walk in Coach Stepp's shoes or any other head coaches shoes I suggest you do not judge. For the record he apparently did not have any problem at Berea or Clay, he built those programs to winners. He took the Harrison job on promises that never came through. As for Franklin, it was other factors that were personal for him deciding to resign and it is no one elses business other than him and his family. I wish Coach Stepp the best, he is a great football mind and maybe Franklin will find the right person for them. I here Mike Leach is looking for a job, or maybe they can pay Tony Franklin the big dollars to come in run the team.

Who will run the wieght room and off season work? Flyers did not lift in summer, in season, and now off season??

 

That is a good question. I know that football activities for the week have been cancelled, but the kids need to be in the weightroom. Enormous strides are made in the weightroom so hopefully while the AD and admistration look/interview for a new Head Coach, the Senior leaders of next years team will get the younger ones in the weightroom. Morale at Franklin County is as high as it has been in a while, the kids have a sense of relief now that Stepp is gone.

I don't know anything about Step or have never met him. I have made statements based on reading other people statements and observations. So what was so bad with him at Franklin, that the whole football team has a sense of relief now that he is gone?

Nobody is questioning Stepp as far as him or his family. I wish him and his family the best. No need to get all crappy towards FCHS with the Leach and Franklin comments. Good luck to him and mainly his family along with the kids at FCHS.

FCHS use to be a Franklin client at one point right? I am pretty sure I have some PPT that the opening slide is a FCHS player's face. I also think the clips had some FCHS game clips. Since Leach and TF run the same offense I think there might be a little to what he is saying. What I mean is if you have been a TFS client for a few years and doing well and then a new HC comes in and changes it. It might not set well with some. I am not sure if that changed when Stepp came in or not.

 

I do not know if Elkhorn MS kids got to FCHS or not but Elkhorn 2 years ago ran the TFS and did extremely well.

Once again, this is just from what I have read on Step, but I do remember seeing that Clay Co was not sad to see him go either.

I don't know any details about FCHS. But knowing some people around the program it didn't matter who the coach unless the run a Spread offense. I think that made people upset the most.

Now I know there other things he did that upset other folks. But The number one complaint that I heard was he wasn't running the "SYSTEM"

The problem was he wasn't winning. If they were in the wishbone and were 9-1 instead of 1-9 I doubt folks would have cared what "system" he was running.

That is totally wrong. What made most angry was the way he ran his football program and that he was not doing it for the kids.

The "system" he is referring to is the Tony Franklin System which is commonly referred to as "the system". Schools that have been clients for awhile develop a very strong devotion to it. I am not saying that him leaving the system was the reason but I know when schools do well with it it tends to entrench itself within the whole culture of the program.
