2010 Predictions

Recommended Posts

Just for fun here are some 2010 Bball Predictions:

Holmes will win the 9th Region, but will not repeat as state Champs

Either NewCath or Highlands will not make it to the Regional

Bryan from Villa will be the scoring leader

Holy Cross will average less than 36 points a game

St. Henry will win their distirct (somehow)

Ryle will not make it to the Regional Tourn

CovCath will narrowly lose to Holmes in the District Finals

Boone will win their district, but lose first round of Regionals to either Newport or NewCath

Never again will both CovCath Radio and The Old Guy both miss a CovCath Varsity bball game!

At least 10 post will start out .. " I don't want to blame the loss on the officials..but"

At least 5 Highlands bball threads will end up talking about Highlands Football

Any others with predictions for 2010?

My predictions:

Region semi-finals will consist of Boone, Holmes, 36th district winner, Dixie

The 9th region will send out their referees and replace them with diffrent referees for regional play...thank goodness!

A winter storm will cause serious disruption to the schedule, and some seeded games will have to be played at inoppertune times, or will end up being decided by a coin flip.

Dixie will feel like "State Champs".....(just kidding)......but will get two wins on the same day as they play Villa at noon, and the Austrialian National Team later that night.

NKAC: Dayton or Villa will win Division III (this has not been done this decade)

Newport or NCC will win Division II (Brossart has a outside chance)

Holmes will win Division I

The new year will get kicked off in the right way because on two day into it (Jan 2nd) we are treated with some great games:

Scott @ Brossart

Holmes @ Mason Co.

and there are several others

Let the NEW YEAR RING!!!

So who do you think the Scoring leader will be?

I think somehow St. Henry will find a way to win their district, not matter what their seed is coming into the Tourn.

Where is Byran now? 15? 17? Its hard to raise that as the year goes on. Schuh has turned into a strong scoring option as well. Thelen has a legit chance.

I misinterpreted your point on SHDHS. I thought you meant they would get the #1 seed. Of coure, your Elmer bias might be coming out a bit.

Going into the 9th region tournament there will be several posts that will make a case that Boone, Highlands, Newport and even CovCath has a legit chance to make it to Rupp. They will contend that Holmes is not disciplined enough or that they lost too much from last year's team. Some may even contend that henley doesn't know what he is doing and simply has superior talent and that is why Holmes wins. In the end the Bulldogs will make it four in a row on there way to another strong run at the state title. See you at Rupp, go Dawgs.

My predictions....

Holmes will win their district handedly but lose in the Semis.

Dixie will win their District and advance to the Semis of the Region.

Boone Co will win their District and lose in the 1st round of the Region.

Highlands and Newport will represent their District in the Regional Tournament.

NCC and Highlands will draw each other in the District Tournament and the Birds prevail.

Jake Thelen will lead the Region in Scoring.

Newport will win the All A Classic regional.

Ryle will lose in the first round of the Distric Tourney.

St. Henry makes the Regional and knocks off Boone Co in the 1st round.

Brossart makes it to the Regional finals and plays GRC only to lose.

I agree with your thoughts.

Holmes has the most talent amoung any 9th region team and still the clear favorite to make it to Rupp.
