How many NCs did Couch and Lorenzen win combined? How can you be so sure he can't run an NFL offense, he had the one of the highest passer efficencies in the nation.

You have heard of system QB's before right? I think we are going to see the same thing with Florida as we did with Spurrier. QB's putting up great numbers in college, but not being able to do it in the NFL.

He was simply saved by the athleticism around him and the system he played in. Let him throw some of those wobbled off target passes and see how many get picked and how many recievers get tired of getting their ribs blasted. I'd have a shot at putting up good numbers against Citadel and such. When they played a real team in Alabama the team as a whole scored 13 points and he folded under pressure with his red zone pick.

One time in the last 2 years.

Tebow I think has two comeback victories in his career in the 4th quarter. So he is not exactly someone that we can say has shown that he comes through for his team in the clutch.

I would love to see a big strong Tony Pike in a Bengal uniform next year idf he falls to the right round. Yes, it is time to start grooming the next QB.

Tebow never let his team get down. How can you hold that against him?

Draft Tebow and let him play TE until he is ready to take over the quarterback position.

Tebow will get ashot and we will all see. I think he will turn into a good pro QB. Just might take sometime, Vince Young was probably the best payer in college football and it took him a while to adjust. Point is, the right amount of coaching and time will result in a good QB, in Tim Tebow.

:thumb: I like.

It's interesting, Palmer's still a good quarterback though. It can never hurt to draft someone that can step in and be prepared if Palmer goes down, but if they do that, do they risk making Carson angry? It's like what happened in Philadelphia a couple of years ago when they drafted Kevin Kolb, much to the displeasure of Donovan McNabb.

But will the Bengals be in a position to draft towards the top to get a big time QB? I don't know much about the Bengals, but it seems if the defense stays intact, and Palmer is healthy they will be in contention for a playoff spot. If I were the Bengals I would draft defense, offensive line, and running back before I draft a quarterback.

If you want to go the quarterback route, then they could get some quality quarterbacks coming out within the next couple of years. But I think it would be a mistake to go away from Carson.

Did he never let his team get down, or did his defense usually never gave up many points to let his team get down? Then when his defense wasn't playing so great in those losses he did have in his career, was he able to bring his team back for a win? Yeah your right he wasn't down much, however the few times he was. He wasn't able to help his team out that much to comeback for the win. So yeah that kind of shows he has not proven himself to be clutch, because in the NFL no matter how great the QB is. They are going to have lots of times in their careers where they would have to make plays at the end of the game to come back to win...

Now your idea of making him a TE, I would be all for. :D

If I were Tebow and they were trying to tell me to be a Tight End, I wouldn't go for it. He's gotten this far as a quarterback, so I say keep with it. If he doesn't make it big in the NFL, I know he will probably go on to have a successful career traveling the religious circuit; you know that he will have several opportunities to do public speaking outside of football.

Tim Couch and Jared Lorenzen were Mr. Footballs in KY. Last I checked neither are very good in the NFL. Tim Couch has the highest completion percentage of any QB to play in KY and he was still a flop. You can have all the high school and college records you would like it doesn't mean anything in the NFL.

Besides there is no way Tebow can run a conventional O so the team would have to adjust to him. I'll give him 3 weeks with his playing style in the NFL.

I do not think Couch was a flop. He was playing on an expansion team and eventually led them to a playoff victory. Injuries are what killed Couch.

What do you mean by give him three weeks?

Also, watching film of the past season of NFL teams. The NFL teams are starting to incorporate some of the zone read offense and spread running plays you used to only find in high school and college.

Vince Young is not running the same offense as Kerry Collins. OC in the NFL are finally starting to run different sets. The NFL has been so vanilla for the past 2 decades: they are scared to run anything different or out of the norm. But now they are seeing the difficulty defenses have in accounting for offenses that use the qb in power type running formations and/or plays.
