Look into drafting a project QB this year? Maybe the 4th round or so. Someone with a big arm and NFL potential. Carson is really starting to worry me for a variety of reasons. I know futurecoach will bash this thread for the next decade, but what is your opinion?

I've wondered the same. I wouldn't be opposed to it.

I think you need to get 2-3 quarterback prospects and commit to taking them in the 4th or 5th round if they're there. If not, take the best available player.

Many times this year I wonder how that elbow is holding up. I know we bash Bratkowski a lot for not stretching the field, but maybe Palmer's elbow cannot hold up for them. Teams have kept bigger things under wraps. It could also explain why at times they flat refuse to pass even if the last 3 series haven't produced a yard on the ground. You are only trying to prove yourself as a running team to a certain point. After that something is up!

Also, last year I questioned how committed he is to this team. When they give you the option to have surgery and for sure play this season or rehab and maybe help your teammates the following season and you decide the latter I question how much you want to give for the franchise.

I have a lot of good reasons to back up what I am saying for it, especially since people don't like to look at the big picture with everything when it comes to him. However I know I wouldn't have a problem with them drafting one late like you said. Its always good to protect yourself, and Carson has been injury prone. I know I think there is still something wrong with that elbow, even though they are not saying it. A QB with an elbow injury is not a good thing, especially long term. So it certaintly wouldn't be a bad idea to draft one in the 4th round or later.:thumb:

Jake Locker next year?

Or if you want to go this year Tim Tebow?

Tebow isn't worth wasting the time on in the NFL if you want a QB.

How by him not getting surgery done mean he is not committed to the team? Yes surgery was an option, however the doctors also told him it was something that it could heal on its own. We really have no clue for sure if he would have came back this year if he had surgery, and how well he would have done. Jake Delhone is I think the only QB in the NFL to have Tommy John done, and his career has not been the same since especially his arm strength. So him choosing not to have surgery probably was the more safe way for him to go, and gave him the best chance to help out the team this year. No one knows for sure how it would have been after surgery. Now if it is hurt again, like we all think it might be. Then he definitely should get surgery, because he would now know that it is something that won't completely go away.

This franchise is in trouble if they want Tebow to be their starting QB. Tebow IMO will never be a starting NFL QB.

This is the first time we have agreed in a while.:thumb:

Really?

He has won at every level. He has won two NCs and I think he won a state title. He has many highschool PASSING records in the state of Florida. It might take him a year or two under Palmer, but I bet he will do good in the NFL. I understand he isn't the prototypical NFL QB but he is definetly worth a shot.

You do realize most star QB's in college, also have won at every level. Its not like Tebow is anything new. Any QB that goes to a top college program, also usually won state titles in high school, and then continued winning in college. That means nothing when it comes to doing well in the NFL.

Good point, but he has an unmatched fire and he will be a starting NFL QB.

Tim Couch and Jared Lorenzen were Mr. Footballs in KY. Last I checked neither are very good in the NFL. Tim Couch has the highest completion percentage of any QB to play in KY and he was still a flop. You can have all the high school and college records you would like it doesn't mean anything in the NFL.

Besides there is no way Tebow can run a conventional O so the team would have to adjust to him. I'll give him 3 weeks with his playing style in the NFL.

How many NCs did Couch and Lorenzen win combined? How can you be so sure he can't run an NFL offense, he had the one of the highest passer efficencies in the nation.
