December 16, 200916 yr I got rid of mine about 4 years ago and haven't missed it at all. I've never had one at any place I've lived on my own. Why bother? It's kind of funny how many of these things I agree with, yet can immediately lay hands on and actually have used relatively recently. Floppy disks, foldable maps, VHS tapes and VCRs, film cameras. I think I've used each of those in the last 4 months.
December 16, 200916 yr To me it seems like house phones in general aren't far behind. I have a cell phone but still keep a land line for two reasons: 1) For some reason I don't like talking on my cell phone for long periods of time. It has nothing to do with my minutes, it's just not comfortable to me. 2) When I'm not working and don't want to work over time I turn my cell off so I can tell my boss I must have been out of service when he called
December 16, 200916 yr Cameras that take film... It's all basically memory cards now. I bought my sister a really cool camera for Christmas. It's a digital camera that has a memory card but it also has a place in the camera to load blank picture paper. You can take a picture and also print the picture directly from the camera. It's one of the coolest gifts I've ever given.

December 17, 200916 yr Watches are not obsolete but you see less of them now that everyone has a phone with a clock on it.
December 17, 200916 yr Tell my boss! All the managers where I work have work issued pagers....simply the most annoying device ever. I get paged....have to call the person who paged me....wait for them to be paged to be located...and by that time the crisis is over.:ohbrother: Why not just call my cell phone? :idunno: I think we just hit a nerve...!
December 17, 200916 yr  why do you say that ? Well. my digital camera is fairly inexpensive without too many bells and whistles.
December 17, 200916 yr To me it seems like house phones in general aren't far behind. I hope you are right, because my area has a monopoly on it. I pay 100 bucks a month for basic phone and dsl, there are no other options. I am sure I get the worst service in the state for my dollars also. If house phones are obsolete, this monopoly will fold, and I can get far better service for less than half the price. I can only dream, lol.
December 17, 200916 yr Well. my digital camera is fairly inexpensive without too many bells and whistles. It actually wasn't as expensive as you would think. Does that not sound like the coolest camera ever ? I don't even take pictures and I want to keep it for myself
December 17, 200916 yr Disagree wholeheartedly on this. I have tons of maps and use them all the time. Plus, unlike GPS devices, reading a map also helps you to better get to know the area you are visiting. I agree 100% with you on this one. Maps will always have a place in my home.:thumb:

December 17, 200916 yr Paying for internet porn (per info provided by Jim Schue). :scared: :scared: Filing taxes via paper return. I always file a paper return. I have read that that decreases your chances of having an audit. (I view an audit as a pain-in-the-rear, not something to be feared)
