December 7, 200916 yr Since reinserting Brady Quinn back into the starting QB slot he has thrown 7 TD's and 2 INT's. He has played pretty well considering what he has for an offensive line and the players he is actually throwing it too. Now comes the question. At 1-11 Browns are almost certain to either receive the 1st or 2nd pick in next years draft. Do they look at another QB? Do they draft Ingram or Gearheart? Do they shore up the offensive line or do they trade some of their picks for more proven players? In my opinion they should keep Quinn as the QB and the top priorities should be offensive line, defense, and a big play running back. The Browns are terrible but have some potential if the right draft choices are made. Also, whether it is deserved or not the Browns may receive a new head coach as well.
December 7, 200916 yr Author I'd trade the down a bit and pick up more picks. They did that this year, and I believe they have 11 picks for next years draft.
December 7, 200916 yr Author I would take Ingram, Lewis is retiring. While I agree that Ingram may be the best choice, if the Browns do draft a RB in the first round they better do something to build up a line for him.
December 7, 200916 yr They just need to build a team with an O line and work from there. They haven't had a great line in Cleveland since the Browns rejoined the league. They have been to the playoffs 1 time, and have only sniffed it once since then. Quinn has played pretty well since reassuming being the starting QB, but he doesn't have much help. Mangini was a HUGE mistake. The front office has been a joke. And what big name free agent would want to play for Cleveland right now? They should have stayed on the path they started on they got better each of the first 3 years. Then after the playoff season, they went into QB carousel mode and saw numerous QBs put on the IR because of their horrible O line (Couch, Holcomb, Garcia, etc).
December 7, 200916 yr Author Could be wrong, but isn't Ingram just a true sophomore? He may be actually. I hadn't really paid attention. I thought I had read somewhere about him being in the draft.
December 7, 200916 yr Author Alright, after looking up some information (probably should have to began with) I see that Ingram is just a sophmore so he'll be eligible after next year. Here is Scouts Inc's top 10 players as of right now. 1. Eric Berry* S Tennessee 97 2. Gerald McCoy* DT Oklahoma 97 3. Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska 96 4. Joe Haden* CB Florida 96 5. Russell Okung OT Okla. State 96 6. Derrick Morgan* DE Georgia Tech 96 7. Rolando McClain* ILB Alabama 96 8. Trent Williams OT Oklahoma 95 9. C.J. Spiller RB Clemson 95 10. Jake Locker* QB Washington 95
December 7, 200916 yr With the #1 pick, I think they should take an offensive lineman. They have Joe Thomas already and another O-lineman would really solidify their line. No reason to get rid of Quinn. Give him some more time. He hasn't played enough to pass judgment on.
December 7, 200916 yr No QB worth taking #1, they have some good lineman when healthy. I would draft defense, AFC North is a defensive division.
December 7, 200916 yr #1 or #2 is too high to take a LB. You basically have to take a d-lineman or an o-lineman. No sense in taking an RB. They're a dime a dozen and useless unless you have an o-line for them to run behind. I like McClain a lot, but no way the Browns take him that early. Suh looked good against Texas, but I'm not a big fan of taking a DT early unless they're like 6'7'' 350.
December 7, 200916 yr If I had the #1 pick in next year's draft, my list would begin and end with Ndamukong Suh. He's a freak.
