December 7, 200916 yr The fastest I ever saw with the ball, also had a brief stay at the University of Kentucky. They didn't nickname Dwight Anderson the "Blur" for nothing. :thumb: I believe Wall is a superior player, but Im not sure he had anything on him in the athletic department.
December 8, 200916 yr The Best freshman Point guard I have ever witnessed was Ervin Magic Johnson...Mich St. 1978 elite 8 against UK...:thumb:
December 9, 200916 yr The Best freshman Point guard I have ever witnessed was Ervin Magic Johnson...Mich St. 1978 elite 8 against UK...:thumb: What I remember most about that season was he was unbelievable vs. Miami (Ohio) in the Sweet 16 but very human vs. UK in the Mideast Regional Final. Kentucky Game 2-10 FG 2-2 FT 4 Reb 4 Fouls 5 Assists 6 Turnovers 6 Points On a personal side note to that UK-MSU game. My parents and Godparents were there. They made a wager with an MSU fan over a button. Loser gave the winner his button. In my possession now is a basketball shaped button that says: MSU is Magic I'll cherish it forever. :thumb:
December 10, 200916 yr The year isn't over yet my friend.....also, he's going to be there one year, not three.......he is not the greatest ever, or even the best that I have ever seen. I did not say he's the greatest ever. He may be one of the best athletes to play the position, though. And he's sure looked great for a freshman. Who is the greatest you've ever seen? Have you watched Wall much? At all? He dominated against UNC, but they have fairly young guards too. RockPride, still waiting...
December 10, 200916 yr Then he had better average about 30 ppg....at this point I don't see him as better than Jason Williams from Duke. Seriously? C'mon now.

December 10, 200916 yr RockPride, still waiting... Hell forget UNC, he dominated last night against UConn and only played what like 30-32 minutes.
December 10, 200916 yr :isurrender: Jason Williams? Are you serious? Williams was great. I think people forget how good Williams was because of the unfortunate accident he had that ended his career. I'm surprised his name doesn't come up more when discussing great collegiate PG's. He's certainly one of the best I've seen. But, John Wall is better, IMO. As for the rest of the debate, whether you have to stay more than a year to be a legend...that's just a personal opinion I suppose. Obviously, guys who stay longer can build a better resume. But, IMO, there's a reason they stay longer...:idunno:
December 10, 200916 yr RockPride, still waiting... He's amazing no doubt....but you all are saying best EVER, and he's played 8 games.....geez....he's a turnover factory right now....get those down....and we'll see....lead them to the promised land, and we'll see.....8 games folks....it's still December...they also have yet to pay against a zone team...I think Syracuse could give them fits.

A few teams have played some zone against them, but not nearly as much as I had anticipated. But, you didn't answer my questions: 1. Who is the greatest you've ever seen? 2. Have you watched Wall much? At all? He dominated against UNC, but they have fairly young guards too.
December 10, 200916 yr ^ I am biased...but at this point I'll still stick with Jason Williams, at the end of the year, maybe not......I have watched every second that Wall has played....but I think that the level of play was harder 10 years ago compared to now....I will concede, if need be at the end of the year.....but that'll have to wait.

You think the level of play was harder 10 years ago when the top college prospects were jumping straight to the NBA than now, when they're essentially forced to go to college? Based on what?

Based on what? I don't really know....i just feel the kids were better at the game....maybe they played more team ball...maybe more people stayed longer.....just a feeling that teams were a lot better then, than they are this year....heck, I think UNC last year is way better than any team this year.....but those were older players.

Essentially you have no basis for your claim and are just saying it to discredit Wall? Sounds about right.
