I know a lot of my friends who are in fraternities constantly are looking at old tests and quizzes, and merely memorizing the questions and answers.

 

Just the other day I sat down to take an accounting quiz, one in which I came in expecting to fail, when a kid in a fraternity two seats down was giving out the multiple choice answers. I am not ashamed to say that I got the answers because in college it is survival of the fittest. No body here cares how you get your grades just as long as you get them. After sitting and reading the questions on the quiz I honestly might have known 3 out of the 12 questions. And I still havent gotten it back yet so I don't know how I did, but I like my chances at a good grade.

 

Cheating happens, and while I know the old saying "you're only cheating yourself," I would rather have my degree in a few years than have to be retaking classes that I could have previously gotten through, ethically or not.

What happens when your future employer wants you to perform a task that was covered on that test? What do you tell him when you can't live up to the qualifications you allegedly had? "Sorry boss, can't do that one. I had to cheat on that test."

To me at least, there is no difference between stealing and cheating! Sure one is a crime, and the other isn't but both say a lot about ones character and honesty!

The cheaters will have been found out later in life. Once a cheater always a cheater and the employer will see through them.

Anyone who wants to label me as a "cheater" certainly has the right to do so. But I know that I earn my money and grades honestly, and being offered answers to a quiz you are about to take is something that I am sure not many on here would have refused while in college.

They shouldn't have to go though. They really have no choice considering there are only two options and neither one is a good one. Being a one and done benefits no one and the players shouldn't have to leave the country if they don't want to IMO. The one year rule is bogus, IMO. Derrick Rose, OJ Mayo, John Wall or whoever shouldn't have to go to school if they don't want to. It's not a choice, it's the NBA pretending to actually care about the players.

Well, presumably he learned the subject and answered correctly. If not, he'll go back to class & review the test and learn the information for the future.

 

And we all know that real life isn't what you learn in the classroom. If an employer solely relies on what you learned in undergrad, there are bigger problems than cheating on a test.
