Louisville's season ended Friday. What is going on at PJCS this week that it had to be moved? Obviously, Louisville football wasn't a conflict with the finals -- at least not this year, anyway.

I believe the KHSAA need a firm guarantee that PJCS would be open for play. The Big East hadn't finalized the schedule (technically, I guess, TV hadn't chimed in) and therefore Louisville couldn't confirm (or deny) that there would (or wouldn't) be a game at PJCS this weekend.

Apparently not the Big East. I think they sort of take TV appearances when they can get them...read: after the other conferences have their dates/times filled.

I think opponents usually are but not necessarily dates. Remember all the controversy over UK moving the UK-UL game from the season opener just a couple of years ago? Also if I remember correctly didn't Temple back out of a game with UK just before last season? Also wasn't the Miami-UK game just finalized in this past offseason?

Seems like the BigEast is willing to play on any night of the week.

ESPN can switch the start time of any Big East game on Friday and Saturday. Had UL and Rutgers been worth a flip, it likely would have been a primetime game Friday or moved to Saturday, which would have been a conflict.

The problem is that the Big East will not garentee that they will not be using PJS on any given date up until the first Saturday in December. The KHSAA asked for a two-day committment from the Big East and they would not agree. All NCAA FBS games must be completed on or before the first Saturday in December. If the KHSAA would agree to go to the second weekend they could have PJS.

I believe they received some type of exemption; which of course means others will soon get the same thing.

With the number of fans UofL is drawing, the KHSAA should reserve Papa John's and UofL

could play at St. Xavier, Trinity, Manual, or Central depending on the number of losses they have going into the game.

The Big East has a contract with ESPN and pretty much is at their mercy when it comes to scheduling. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, who knows....:lol:
