Contrary to what some believe, football may not be the only sport that is a concern for the superintendents. THere are a lot of sports that private schools DOMINATE.

St. X or Trinity has won 5 of the last 6 boys team state golf championships and 4 of the last 6 individual boys state golf championships.

1996 through 2001 there was a private school playing for the state championship in girls soccer. Khsaa does not have state champions listed since 2001 but I know Sacred Heart has one it at least once.

In boys soccer, of the 10 teams from 1997 to 2001 that played for the state championship 7 of the were private schools.

past volleyball champions are not listed on the Khsaa website.

Ok, so please explain the private schools recent domination in basketball, wrestling, and baseball? Oh thats right, there has BEEN no domination in those sports.

Girls basketball, Lex CAtholic won last year, Sacred Heart beat Lex Cath in the final the previous 2 years. Clinton County and Jackson County have been the only 2 public schools to play for the state title in the past 4 years.

I did not check on baseball or wrestling. I will say the domination is most more on the girls side of the agenda than the boys.

Owensboro Catholic won the girls fastpitch last year, past winner's site would not load to give previous years.

2 out of the last 5 years champs in baseball have been a private school with 2 private schools making the final 4 last year.

The only thing I could find on wrestling was LY and had trinity finishing 7th, maybe and St. X finishing 9th. I could be wrong on those final positions. That one is a little hard to read.

How many states have seperate post seasons and championships?

I am pretty sure California has no state champs in football at all.

New York has seperate championships for state titles.

Have 3 public school classes and 2 private classes for football.

Bottom line. Get better coaches, teach better fundamentals, win more games. Do we remember a few short years ago, when Seneca dominated. What did they do? They fired a good coach who built them into a good program. What is Seneca doing these days? Nothing. Have we forgotten Bobby Redman? Male has had how many losing seasons since he's been there? Trinity has had more in that span of time..so where is that disadvantage? I didn't hear anybody crying foul after Male smashed Trinity in 2000. I suppose since Trinity and St. X have won the last 4, its the old story told again. I dont see an advantage. I see people making excuses. Trinity has played Maunal three years in a row..and all three years, the game has come down to the final play...but then again..Manual is a rising team, one that isn't making excuses, they're getting better. There are coaches and administrators out there who believe that its within them to win a championship, and they are striving to do so. Then there are coaches and administrators who are crying foul at private schools, and they're falling faster and faster. Its not about private and public, its about doing what you need to do to win, or not. Plain and Simple!

If you think that is actually the way that Micah Johnson or anyone else landed at Fort Campbell, then by all means, call the KHSAA and have them investigate. Frankly, I don't believe it. This is the U.S. Army we're talking about. I think they have more important things to worry about then making sure a Division I football prospect ends up at Fort Campbell.

Besides, Micah Johnson doesn't have to attend Fort Campbell. He isn't bound to go to school on post ... he's also free to go to school in Clarksville, assuming that he lives in Tennessee. Marcus McClinton lived in Kentucky and could have enrolled at Hopkinsville, entirely legally, if he had so chosen.

Amazing that no one complained about Fort Campbell when they piled up losing records in the late 1990s. The Falcons have lost a few players over the years, too, either to the Clarksville schools or because their parents got transferred to another installation.

Of course, your gripe is coming from a supporter of a school that made it to the state championship game on the back of a Division I recruit at quarterback from a neighboring county and had attended a public middle school in that county. And your state-power softball team apparently has had star players that live in another state.

For the record, I don't have a problem with that, either, as long as eveything is above board.

Yet you guys have the nerve to complain about other schools.

Timeout. Read my post again. It clearly states that since they have not had any success in over 20 years nobody has said anything. Also read previous posts in this thread about people complaining about Trinity and St.X. Everyone is jealous of them because of their success.

About Zach Barnard. It was clearly the case you brought about Marcus McClinton. He could have gone to Henderson County. Maybe he chose to go to Catholic because he is Catholic. Dang what a great idea. Oh Maybe Marcus stayed at Ft.Campbell because he likes to be around Military kids and there might be some discipline in the schools. Case in point, The coach, nor the principal at OCHS called Zach to play football for Owensboro Catholic. At the time Catholic was 3-8 and Mojo was running the ball. Why would a kid want to play for a school that throws the ball 2 times a year? Maybe his mom said Zach you are going to a "Catholic" High School. He said "yes ma'am", and not squeeled on the floor like a baby. Again "discipline" and "structure".

Lets see...California has how many of millions of people more than KY...NY as well. No basis for argument here at all.

Coach Schneider would be proud of you. :thumb:

Heck why don't they just give every one in all classes at his schools A's so they can all attain honor roll too. What a boneheaded idea. Great message for our kids: gee we are going to water down the meaning of a state champion, but maybe you'll get to be one!
It's the old "everybody gets a medal" mentality! I hate that too. :irked:

I believe TN does. If I remember the story right a private school was dominating the state championship, year in and year out and they switched to separate private/public classes.

If you do not believe there should be a separate class for private/public, should there not be separate classes for size. A schools want to compete against 4A, just higher better coaches.

NCC and Coach Schiedner should just work harder to compete and beat St. X or Trinity.

No, rambo, you implied that someone in authority had a hand in bringing Micah Johnson to Fort Campbell. Again, if you believe that is the case, call the KHSAA.

I know all about Zach Barnard's situation. And like I said, I had no problem with him attending Owensboro Catholic.

What players have come from other states to play for the softball team?
I've been told on more than one occasion that Owensboro Catholic's softball team has had some players that lived in Indiana.

And again, I have no problem with that. Kids on that side of the river are perfectly entitled to attend Owensboro Catholic. I assume it's the closest Catholic school to their home.

There are already seperate classes for size. And while we're on that...why doesn't DeSales and Holy Cross dominate anything? They're private

Should have been in schools when the KEYS money came in place. Parents complaining that our districts grading scale was harder than surrounding districts and as a result was taking money out of their child's pocket for a college education.

You should've dumbed it down so everyone could feel smart!
