Game was a lot closer than the score reads.

I may be biased but I though that was a fumble on the goal line right before the third touchdown. If Greenwood got that it could have been a different game.

It was extremely close on that fumble. I am looking forward to seeing the play. I don't know that Greenwood could have driven 95 yards for a tying score though.

Greenwood played very well, and hopefully got themselves a little bit of respect. People on here were saying scores like 60-70 points for St. X. It probably shouldn't have been more than 14-21 points depending on that fumble. Unfortunately the Greenwood program will be hard pressed to duplicate any of this success given the losses they are taking both in seniors and school population, but this season was one heck of a ride for the Gators.

Reviewed the video of the play, and there's no doubt it was a fumble. I'm capturing the top shot of our video right now, but after that I'll try to get the ground video of the play up. The ball is clearly coming free and Greenwood is right about to pick the ball up when the whistle blows. The ball is about three yards away from the runner.

I think the official call was inadvertent whistle.

I can tell you that play was a heart breaker. The refs made a mistake and they knew it. They are human and mistakes happen. Great atmosphere for the game and I am extremely proud of the Gators. St X is a great team with a big time defense> Things got a little chippy on both sides after that play, but I think the game ended with pure class on both sides. Good luck to the Tigers next week and I know this game will only help our once struggling program in the future.

Got the video up:

I strongly recommend watching it in HQ.

The first three shots are the top shot with live audio, then the top shot at 25% speed, then the top shot with 10% speed. The top shot is slightly inconclusive. The ball is in the runner's right hand, and you don't really see it until it's coming out on his left. His right knee is the first to hit the ground, and without the benefit of seeing his front, you might think that the knee was down before the ball comes out. The next three shots are the ground shot at those speeds. Here you can see the ball moving from his right to his left as he goes down, so the fumble is already in motion at that point.

That was abolutely awesome, DF. No question, that was a fumble. Don't know whether Greenwood goes 95 yards for a TD and gets a 2 point to tie it, but somebody was blowing a quick whistle.

Yes, that was definitely a fumble......great game for both teams......now X can get ready to bring it home finally, exorcising all the Glaser demons....

Great crowd at the game last night, both sets of stands were completely full, plus many spectators lining the fences. Great support from the Greenwood fans, especially the students. I especially liked the large banner on the Gator stands reading (slightly paraphrased) - "Tuition $10000, Recruiting Budget $100000, Public Beating a Private priceless!"

I am surprised that our administration didnt have the banner taken down. Trust me, us Greenwood people have nothing but respect for St X. That was our students making a joke.

Sounded like this game was a bit ugly at times? Anyone?

They may not have had to go 95 yards, looks like he was going to return it for several yards.:idunno:

It was a little chippy. It got especially so after the inadvertent whistle, because I think at that point Greenwood knew it was over.

Biased is the optimum word here. Did anyone see the derogatory sign GW had hanging up? Wow, the bias has filtered all the way down here. The KHSAA should do something about this if the school's administration will not. will not.

Remember.the officials were not from louisville.

Every one had stopped because a whistle was blown when he went down.
