This Season

Manning

Brees

Favre

Brady

Young

Manning has been putting up monster numbers and without his usual plethora of experienced wideouts.

Brees is still undefeated and no one can argue the flaming start he had to the season.

Favre has been playing good and has shown its not just going to be him just managing the game. Four TD's his last time out.

Brady has been Brady.

VY is the one I will get heat for. Has only played in four games and his numbers haven't been no where near as good as what most would want in who their top 5 qbs in the league are. However, no matter how you twist it has took an 0-6 team and went 4-0, and is 8-0 dating back to his last 8 starts. Say what you want, but he wins.

RB'S

Chris Johnson

AP

Steven Jackson

MJD

Insert a number of guys here.

Johnson is on pace to get 2000 yards, and on a team that started out 0-6.

AP has been AP, the Vikings have been winning, and he and Favre both have got their numbers.

Steven Jackson has done more with little than anyone in the league. Plays on a garbage team in which he should be the main objective for opposing defenses in every game, and still puts up numbers.

Jones-Drew has played so good he could afford to take a long run and down it at the one and not take the touchdown then apologize to fantasy owners for not doing so. Enough said.

Williams, Benson, Gore, Ronnie Brown, etc. etc. There are a lot of guys who you could put in that five spot. None over shadows the other IMO, and a couple guys mentioned could have themselves cemented there if it wasn't for injury. Lot of big games put up then some not so big games. Take your pick for this one.

WR

Andre Johnson

Larry Fitz

Reggie Wayne

Randy Moss

Chad OchoCinco

Johnson has been putting up big numbers his whole NFL career. Over the past couple yeats has he just started to get recognized for it. Now his success is helping his QB and team translate into wins. He is an elite WR and it is good that he is finally getting noticed as such.

Fitzgerald has been Fitzgerald. Guy had one of the greatest post seasons of all time last year, and hasn't slowed down that much. He is always one catch away from a big play.

In the world of Garcon's, Browns, and Collies, Manning has still got a guy that he has been familar with for a while. He has made the most of it in Reggie Wayne.

Randy Moss fits into the trend here of having your top QB's number one target also listed as a top WR. Moss has been to Brady what Fitzgerald, Johnson and Wayne has been to their respective QB's. A guy who can with one catch put up six.

Chad gets the nod here for me. Almsot a refining season for Ocho. Has had a pretty rocky past couple of years with the Bengals. Followed up the name change fiasco with a sub par season last year. Lost his pressure taker offer guy in TJ, but has came out and played great football this season. He and Palmer are communicating well, he has shown and will to win, and the Bengals are in first place looking for a playoff birth because of it.

Going outside the thread heres some love for the TE's.

Dallas Clark

Vernon Davis

Antonio Gates

Tony G

Brent Celek

Aside from having Wayne, Peyton is more confident in Dallas Clark then anybody he has to throw the ball to. The Colts also use the TE more efficently than anyone around. Clark gets touches, and gets it done.

Vernon Davis has been a savior for San Fran QB's. He has been the only weapon or threat for them to throw to, and after everyone has been waiting on his potential to break through and translate, he has broke out this season.

The Chargers start the season slow. They have for the past five or more years now. However, they got into their winning ways much earlier than the norm this year and big thanks to Gates. LT has not been LT like, and although the Wide Outs have been playing good for Rivers, none compares to being what Antonio Gates is for him.

Tony G was a huge pick up for Ryan and the Falcons. He is putting up his normal Tony G numbers of course making him a top 5 TE. A big factor in keeping Ryan away from a sophomore slump.

Brent Celek may be one out of left field, and it pains me to even fill in an Eagle here instead of a Cowboy like Jason Witten. However, this season you cannot complain Celek is not a top five TE. If you don't agree with me, numbers don't lie.

Again no more threadjacking, but here to round it out is my five best teams so far this year.

Colts

Pats

Seriously?

There is no possible way that anyone other than Peyton Manning can be number one. He may end up being the best pure quarterback to ever play the game. Many of you are choosing Brady, most likely because of the Superbowl Rings. If I am basing it off what the OP said, by talent and efficiency alone, there is no one better than Peyton Manning. This year, and perhaps this year only, Brett Favre may be in consideration.

Farve could be number #1, thats were I put him. 21 TD's and like 3 INT's.

I would never consider Brett Favre as the number 1, but he is having a great year.

I lot of quarterbacks could have a great year with Adrian Peterson in their backfield. His threat totally opens up the field for Brett Favre.
