You certainly have history on your side but I always hold out hope that this is the year that the BBall team can break out.

And on that note, I think the attendance will be fairly close to what they would have gotten in Louisville, because a lot of locals from a 25 mile radius of BG will come out to see what all the T vs. X hoopla is about.

 

I'm sorry, but I can't agree with this. Let's be honest. There are just not near as many people within a 25-mile radius of Bowling Green as there are within a 25-mile radius of Louisville even if all of them were curious. :lol:

Absolutely peaking at he right time. If they struggled against Shelby Co. or Male for that matter, predictions of a Trinity blowout would be in doubt. The Shelby Co. game changed that. So with that, the rocks will have little problem Friday night. They are extremely focused in practice.

I disagree. I do not think the attendance for the T vs X game will be anywhere near what the attendance would be if played in Louisville.

Agree with Catfish - 20-25,000 would turn out for a Louisville showdown. I think no more than 8-10,000 will attend the BG version. My approximate math calculations say that this decision will have an $80-100,000 opportunity cost in attendance for this game alone (ticket prices about $8?). Plus I would guess the extra time driving for the northern and eastern Kentucky fans will yield even higher losses. IMHO, the championships should never leave the central location of Louisville. We can all do the math after it's over though. This won't be like arguing if trinity, saint x or highlands is the best team in Kentucky. The math will let us know if this decision was a smart move.

It wasn't the KHSAA's choice to leave Louisville. The Big East told UL to hold next Friday open in case UL was involved in a big game(ha..ha). The KHSAA thought it was impossible to hold all six games on Saturday. They needed a venue open Friday and Saturday. WKU stepped up. It's a shame UK or EKU couldn't have offered.

What chance does any team, let alone poor Scott County have against the Rolling Rocks when it's the Playoff Final 4? :scared:

 

If you are going to get them, you have to get them early like Dixie Heights did in 2004.

 

Let's look at this Rock juggernaut:

 

Seniors: Great depth and experience...40 players who played in the same system together one year on the freshman team, two years on the JV team, and now one year on the varsity team. Got playoff experience in blowout games the past two years.

 

Juniors: Three offensive superstars in QB Kragthorp, WR Nix, and RB Bishop.

 

Sophomores: The best class ever at Trinity...undefeated over two years including wins over GCL teams. They are now pushing the upper classmen to the pine.

 

Freshmen: The new best class ever at Trinity...undefeated this season. Ten to eleven of them played against Southern in the first playoff game per posts by Rock fans. One of them, who was probably the best football/basketball player to ever attend Newberg Middle School, is a leading starter on the varsity.

 

This Friday will be a long night for Scott County, as Trinity wins by 11 touchdowns and 2 field goals before 11,000 fans at 4,500 seating capacity Marshall Stadium.
