Are you kidding me?Does anyone possibly think that Holmes played this game for any other reason than it being just a scrimmage? Clark Co played this game like their season was on the line. If anyone thinks this was Holmes best effort, you watched this game with blinders on.

 

What I love about the Cards. That is a sign of a great team. You bring it each game. Something Holmes better do as they have the bulls eye on their back.

Did Rice for Holmes not play? He had a really good Sweet 16 last year, but I didn't see where he scored.

I like GRC a lot, but to say they are better than the defending state champions at this point because of a scrimmage would be ridiculous. Holmes was without arguably the best player in the state most of the game.

 

Holmes has plenty and or more depth than they did last yr. They will be just fine.

 

GRC will have a much tougher time getting to Rupp then Holmes will.

Its funny how you make the excuse about being a man short than mention how deep Holmes is :confused: Can it be both ways? Holmes played like they have already won this years state championship! They are not a deep team as everyone has said...foul trouble...injury...and they struggle missing two players! That is not my definition of deep! We will continue this conversation all year but the answer is in March. Clark County is playing with juniors this year. It is scary to think where they will be next year!:scared:

Yes you have always shown your support for the Cards. Also agree on the statement of Holmes missing a player. Know to well how injuries can effect a team. I agree Holmes will be fine, to me, they are still the #1 ranked team in the state.

No, he had offers, but decided that his education and attending UK his last 2 years was more important. He is a very bright young man, majoring in engineering. He is attending Eastern and commuting from home this semester. In 2 years he is transferring to UK for their engineering program.

No, he decided to not play.

At this point in the pre-season Holmes is not the same team that cut down the nets at Rupp. You do not lose the like of Riley, Housley, and Dom Johnson all three very experienced seniors and very quality basketball players and replace them with Mayfield, Slusher, D. Avery (who is new to the Holmes system) and McClendon who saw no real quality varsity time last year. With that being said they are all very fine athletes and will come along just fine. Is Holmes going to be a better team come March than right now? I think they will be just fine. Holmes coaches have brought younger players along just fine over the years. With the like of Ricardo, JJ, and Pitman leading the way Holmes will look to make a deep run again in March.

Boone will not be a problem for Holmes this yr. Highlands will provide the toughest test for the Bulldogs.

I don't care how deep your bench is, you can't replace a R. Johnson.

What Holmes really seemed to lack was someone who could knock down the 3 on a consistant basis. That is the only difference I saw from last years Championship team. But its early. And I agree that GRC is going to be there at Rupp. Good luck to both teams.

Holmes has one that can knock the 3 down on a consistant basis and that is the mcclendon he's just a freshmen. They should played him and avery togather more it opens the floor more for johnson and pittman.
