I'm so sorry about his injury. He's a great QB and certainly didn't deserve to end his season on like this. I certainly will keep him in my prayers.

He is in our prayers for sure. Henry played their hearts out, even more so after the injury. Tough kids. Keep your heads up. You have to be so proud. :thumb:

Heard about the injury during our broadcast...so sorry to hear it. Luke is a fine QB and had a terrific career at HC. Sorry it ended this way; kudos to Henry County for the gutty effort after their QB went down!!

 

And to Central - congrats on the big win! The Jackets move to within two victories of another title.

HC fought their Hearts out, Luke is a Junior he will be back to fight another day. For the seniors at HC you guys are awesome talented and leadership, but the cupboard is not bare, a lot of talent coming back. HC fought hard in all phases and out hit Central but could not out run them in the end, a lot of adversity HC dealt with tonight they fought hard.

You're right; Magness is a junior. I was thinking he was a senior.

Great football game. Magness was the difference in this one. With him, Central didn't have an answer defensively. Without him the young back up threw a pick inside his own 10 and turned it over twice on fumbles...however, he played a very gutsy 2nd half after he calmed down. Losing Magness also really hurt defensively...he's a wale of a linebacker. Not sure Central could stop HC with Magness, but we'll never know. Congrats to Central, they had to earn this one. Good luck against PT. Cats are in good shape going into next season, another year of maturity will make this team a contender in a year.

I think Central ended the game with their fourth string QB. Henry played great, but central made a lot of big plays with people playing other than their starters as well.I don't think I have ever been so proud and so sad at the same time. Prayers out to Luke, he is an awesome young man and his team and fans love him very much.

A game like this is what makes my belief that Central is a long-term power-to-be stronger.

 

Central has been decimated by injuries in the late season, not the least of which is losing Tim Patterson so late in the season. Wins like this show me that Coach Scroggins is cultivating not only a tradition of winning, but a culture of learning throughout the program so that their team isn't built only around one player, but has playmakers on the 2nd and 3rd strings, and on down.

 

They may not win in as convincing a fashion, but they step up and do win.

 

I'm sorry to hear about the young man from HC who was injured. That is always so tough. My thoughts and prayers are with him. Anyone know what hospital he was taken to? There is a GREAT orthopedic surgeon who has handled 3 emergency situations for my family at U of L and Jewish. If he was fortunate to have anyone from Dr. Malkani's team, or Dr. Malkani himself do the surgery, he is in GREAT hands. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Malkani and his team.

Yes they finished with a freshman quarterback in the game. Chris King was out already and Diaz Bolden took a shot from what the paper said that knocked him out and a freshman finished the game for them. It's awful to hear a player go down especially one that brings so much to the table for Henry, I would love to see this game with both teams full strength it would of been a classic. I hope Magness comes back stronger than he was before, a joy to watch when we played them.
