November 19, 200916 yr This is unfair, when times are down no matter what situation someone is in, people always look to blame someone. (Usually someone in charge) It's not a hard concept. It's every bit as fair as the coach telling a player (whose brother was just shot) he's going to ship him back to St. Louis so he can get shot with the rest of his homies just because a player dropped a pass.

College football = a game; ultimately pointless in the great scheme of things Brother being shot = matter of life and death (not figuratively, but literally) I don't care how badly a kid is playing the game, there is no justification for a coach making light of such a thing as a player's brother getting shot (and that the player should be shot as well). If it's true, I wonder how well the coach would take it if KU's president started making light of the coach's son/daughter/wife being shot if Kansas loses its next game. Hopefully the coach did not say this. If he did, wow... I'm glad it's not the coach of the team I support.

November 20, 200916 yr If I were a player and my younger brother had recently been shot, and the coach said that comment to me, I would have punched him square in the face. If the coach feels like saying these things to his players, then I hope he's man enough to take a punch to the face every now and then without complaining. I doubt he is, though. It wouldn't do you any good to punch him in the gut that's for sure.

"But I can't do the work of some parents, what they should have done before [the players] got to me. Some of these guys are bitter, they are bitter and [the allegations] are about that. "There are some things that happen for 18 years of their lives that I can't change in four years of college. Can't do it. Can't change their behaviors, can't change their attitudes."
